Why on earth does a toothbrush need Bluetooth?

      To prevent it.

Mine is connected to Home Assistant, it helps me track that my kids are brushing their teeth properly
There is also an interactive phone app that helps you track kids brushing habits

So google can collect your personal data

    • Bluetooth is fine and useful, an internet connection back to some server… Yeah, that I'd be complaining about.

  • helps you track your progress

It gamifies brushing your teeth. The app tracks when you brush, how long you brush for, etc. Then awards medals depending on what activity you complete. It's pretty stupid.

        It's pretty stupid.

        That's all I needed to read…

        • Stupid. Yep, who needs to brush their _____.

      • I like that option. hope the interface is good and kinda fun.

      • Until you have ADHD and you realise you can score bonus points for brushing consecutive days…

        BRAIN: Must optimise the thing.

Great price. I bought the Smart 4 4000 four years ago at the same price and it's still going strong. It has all the features you need in an electric toothbrush and you can ignore the Bluetooth connectivity.

  • Shaver shop on eBay too if you have any eBay plus discounts. Mine is offering $5 off

  • Bought the 5000 in 2012 for the same price lol

However priceline sold it for $59 in 2021

This or the Pro 3000 for $22 less?

Can anyone who has used or tested both models comment?

  • bluetooth is a pure gimmick to try set toothbrushes apart. They need to think of features to separate their SKU's, but anything over a pro2000 is pointless.
