Lenovo Legion Go $1349 @ Lenovo Education Store with 10% off.

I was able to haggle and they easily dropped it to $1214.10 and then further reduced it to $1185 - YMMV.

Gluck

For people who doesn't have access to Lenovo Education store - you can scroll down OP's page and put in a burner email for 10% off voucher for first order.

You can haggle with the online store?

    • +1

      via chat

  • Nice. I got it at 1214. Didn't have much fate with the online chat team.

  • AUD$1349 converts to USD$888. The RRP of the Legion GO in the US is $700-750 depending on storage capacity (512GB or 1TB.)
$1214.1 is just under USD $800.

OP hasn't stated the storage on their purchase, as the link does say "512GB PCIe Gen4 SSD up to 1TB PCle Gen4 SSD".

        Appreciate the quick response.

So we get 10% GST plus $45 of F U Aus tax, and that's if you ask nicely.

        • Consider it as Paul Hogan Tax!

@ravzter: An excellent thought. I was just wondering about something similar while reading the latest Steam Deck bargain post.

While we get bohica'd on price for these sort of things, the Australia tax is totally worth it to live on an island thousands of miles from the world's warzones, complete with universal healthcare, mostly free education & all the other awesome stuff.

When I was younger I would have traded living here for lower prices on tech in an instant. These days, however, I'm grateful that saving for a few extra weeks/months is the price of admission.

  • 10% off RRP is very average.

  • How does this compare to the other handhelds?

I'm getting curious about them but the battery life is still holding me off.

    • Gamers nexus has a review video on the Legion go it looks good but it is more expensive than the alternatives. It seem fairly big and heavy but the screen looks good, best resolution in its class.

    • Seems to be better than the Ally but substantially worse than the SD, which is fairly logical. imho the battery life stat is less important than the use case compromises, as the latter will largely determine which is the best option.

How is this substantially worst than the SD?

SD has 2 things going for it, simplicity and battery life.

If you want a shot at playing AAA games then you need the Z1. If your games aren't all on steam then it's simplicity will make it more complicated trying to play games on other launchers.

        • steam deck has non steam launcher app that make it easier to install other game from other launcher now

        • "How is this substantially worst than the SD?"

First, I was wrong about something.
Battery life for the Steam Deck is 2-8hrs.
ROG Ally battery life is 1.3-4hrs.
Legion Go battery life is ¾-3hrs.

Anecdotally the Ally seemed to fair worse than the LGo but that's the problem with anecdotally.

However, 2-8hrs > ¾-3hrs, ergo the LGo "Seems to be better than the Ally but substantially worse than the SD.

  • Do codes stack? ie, 10% off + a presumed chat discount?

  • It's actually more expensive than last week education store had it for $1214

  • Contacted support. They wouldn't budge from $1250. Chat ended when I said I might just go by an Ally.

    • student account ?

      • Correct

  • If you're okay with buying used, second hand units have sold for below $950.
