  • anyone know if Android Desktop would run on these? Thinking of getting Xreal One Pro's and this could be a good companion….

    • +1

Won't be a good companion. It doesn't have video out on its usb c.

Your phone would be a good companion.

  • How does this fair compared to something like the tab a8.
I want to upgrade daughters school tablet as the tab a8 is extremely sluggish

    • +6

Both have processors of pretty much the same calibre. Meaning, they are both underpowered.. Same core configuration, same cores, same GPU. Slightly different clock speeds.

So no, this won't be an upgrade.

        Thanks buddy, really appreciate it

    4 gb ram no thanks

    • Basics only going forward

    • The site says 8gb is it wrong?

      • +1

        Yes

      • According to what i found on lenovo the GG spec are wrong .

        • Thanks

  • Any recommendations for a xheapish tablet with 8gb ram for a child. Main game is minecraft and watching youtube

  • Any recommendations for a small colour tablet for manga reading? I have the lenovoM11 but the screen is just too big to use by 1 hand

    • +1

      look at phones

      • Phone screen is small though. I am using Samdung Ultra at the moment, but still not great for manga. May have to look at the fold ones then

      8" tablet

Iplay50/60 mini - good screen if just reading manga
Lenovo y700 - if you need performance
Redmagic 3 pro - 9" oled will make you eyes cry, so will the price

      • Thanks. Will have a look!

        • Redmagic Astra for ultimate experience

After trying out the matte screen on the Idea Tab Pro it's hard to use anything else now but at 12.7" it's far too big for your needs.

  • Guys, is it possible to use one of these tablets for just their screen?

i.e. I'd like to hook up a Nintendo Switch on it and use the larger screen - possible?

    • +2

No. You need a portable monitor.

    • +4

just get a usb-c portable monitor like the recent Arzopa deal

      • +1

I wouldn't share that specific deal given the vendor cancelled most, if not all, of the orders due to incorrect pricing.

        • Most everyone got it after repurchasing/refund or GC credit.

but it's the same idea, get a portable monitor for Switch

    • +3

If you're wanting to use it 100% as a screen, wouldn't it make more sense to just buy a standalone screen?

  • +4

Don't waste your time on these, 4GB on Android hurts the soul.

  • 2016 wants its 4gb ram back

    • +2

But I gave it $700 for a 4gb ram tablet back then

  • This or an iPad for kids to watch Netflix and play games?

  • It's pretty much useless with only 4gb of ram.

  • +1

    Good enough for airplane trip?

    • Yes

    • You'll probably end up discarding it during the flight with the 4GB of RAM lol

  • +3

Got the m10 3rd gen 4/64gb for my kid in Nov 2023… was on sale ($137). Still going strong after 20ish months, the 4gb ram doesn't seem terrible (though I'm no expert). Nearly daily use streaming Youtube etc. and playing Reading Eggs and Super Mario Run.

    • +2

Thanks for sharing your real world experience. Most OzBargainers can't comprehend that 4GB RAM is enough for general use tablets, especially when they're under $200.

      • I remember being apprehensive before buying but in retrospect, I'm glad I didnt let that stop me tbh
