128 GB storage in a smartphone is a joke. It should be at a minimum 256GB now a days. Even my TCL 50 Pro NXTPAPER 5G came with with 512GB storage and that was a bit under $500. Actually I paid $427 for it at the time.

128GB is fine for the majority of current users. Most memory is taken up by photos and videos that people never look at and should delete or should transfer to other storage for later viewing that will likely never happen.

      • -3

Yes if all you're doing is web browsing, video streaming and taking a few photos. Load it up with a bunch of large games and uncompressed music is a different story.

        • +1

Buying an A56 to play a bunch of large games on is a bit of a joke.

    • How is TCL pro performance?
      On battery usage etc?

      • The TCL uses a much weaker Mediatek processor compared to the A56. Pathetic performance for a $400+ phone that also still has an IPS screen.

        • Yes, but I just saw that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE 5G also still has a TFT screen,

but yes, it is a tablet though.

  • WTF NO SD?

    • -1

Most phones do not have microSD card slots anymore

      • Yeah it's headed that way in smartphones.

And this only has 128GB storage which is a bit pathetic. Geez you get ripped off with this brand.

    • a55 had sd. tis a step backwards.

      • +1

Yep. That was the last decent phone to have it. You now have to go Motorola

    • +1

Yeah it’s a bummer. I’ll keep using my Motorola g84 but the next phone to buy will be from a shrinking list, unless they decide to make internal storage bigger and cheaper.

  • +5

I don't mind 128GB with SD Card, but 128GB without expandable storage is too little

    • +5

Yes that's what I meant by it being pathetic. That little storage is too tight now a days when the operating system has to share it.

How much would it cost Sammy to include more storage!
How much will Sammy charge you for a phone with more storage!

    • +1

Well if can't be that much because my smartphone with 512GB storage and 8GB RAM retailed in Australia for $499. Samsung is just ripping you off with an over inflated price for what you actually get.

      • Yes, but they were happy to follow the iphone leading the charge lol.

  • Why is this cheaper than the A55?

    • +1

It's a combination of the current $499 sale price and TGG $60 off code

  • I've used the A51 and have now got an A34 at the moment, but I'll probably jump off Samsung in December when my Sim only plan is finished.
What's comparable to this in other brands?
Most I use is for OzB, Insta/discord and the odd game maybe once or twice every few months.

Motorola g75 outshines this handset in most cases except for the screen and maybe the processor ⁉️
And a lot cheaper given the many times it's been on special lately 👍

  • Actually any chance to buy a physical dual SIM phone in Aus now?

  • +1

Thanks OP. Upgraded an old s21 with a dying battery.

    • Enjoy
