This previously popular Lenovo Android tablet is back and while the 8GB/128GB reached an ATL low of US$155.99 recently this store has the 256GB storage variant for a little bit more which is worth the extra in my opinion. Especially since the 8GB/128GB variant is US$170ish on this listing and US$168ish at 70mai Goldway

Features include ZUI 16 (Android 14, updates until 2028), 12.7" 144Hz 2944x1840 LCD display with 400nits brightness, Widevine L1 DRM, 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage with microSD support, 8GB or 12GB RAM, 10200mAh battery with 45W fast charging, 4 JBL Speakers with Dolby Atmos, 2 inbuilt mics, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint reader, WiFi 6 ax, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, USB-C 3.2 port with 4K@60Hz video out and pogo pins for a keyboard.

AU$ based on current Mastercard rate, GST inclusive and doesn't stack with TCB/SB/CR cashback.

To enable Google Play, go to Settings > App Management > 3 dots top right > Google Basic Services > Turn on.
Then download Google Play from the Application Center or sideload an apk yourself.

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate depending on the card.

Any smaller tablets available for good prices? @Clear, something around the 8inch mark?

    • 8inch is small :( ? Thats huge man !

    • +3

Also interested in this size, to pair with my gamesir.

Does this have some sort of battery management system to allow it to be permanently on charge as a Home Assistant display? My Samsung tablet battery has just turned into a spicy pillow and I'm not sure if I'm better off replacing the battery or the whole tablet. And if I replace it do I get something like this or one that's powered by PoE.

    • +1

You could try modding your tablet to run directly from USB https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCkP_AUMZzw
If you buy a new battery for your old tablet, there's apps to restrict your charging.

    • +4

You can set it to maintain between 40 and 60% if that's what you mean. Or you can set it to 80%.

      • I think they mean bypass charging, where the tab runs directly from the PD charging brick like a PC power supply.

    • 2 of my Lenovo's running the Chinese RO are now used as HA displays, after a few days of being plugged in they autostart a setting to only charge to 60%.

      • Do you know if they get LAN internet from PoE input?

    • If you custom Rom it you can usually restrict to 80 percent charge

  • excellent screen size! split screen youtube / web browser. Like reading newspaper with your tv on.

Perfect for really dialling in the ADHD

  • +4

Have the tablet and it's amazing. Got it from the last deal. Get the CN rom version. Installing play store is easy and don't confuse yourself watching some random YouTube videos

  • +2

I can never get these deals at price listed.

When I apply coupon it tells me that its too cheap at discounted price for rhe coupon to apply.

Keeps saving me from spending money at least

    • +1

Even when you select all the correct bundles instead of blindly clicking Buy Now?

      • +1

Haha yeah tried exactly what was posted and tried multiple options.

      • +1

Is it because i have my currency as AUD maybe?

        • +2

Yes I suspect so. AliExpress trade in USD and it doesn't fluctuate unlike their AUD rate.

          • +2

@Clear: Thanks mate that was it. Got it for 167usd delivered

            • +2

@Dvbargain: It's a great tablet, i'd also recommend you install gboard if you don't like the default keyboard.

              • @cephh: Stoked yeh. Overspecced for the price by far.

Dont know what ill use it for though.

                Any good accessory recommendations?

                • +1

@Dvbargain: I personally just ordered a random case and screen protector of ali express (got sent wrong screen protector first time tho), i mainly use it for shows with stremio + rd and reading manga here and there, vertically it's humongous which is great.

    • How does the 38 coupon apply when base price is 254, and if you use the 300 listing how does 38 off equal roughly 250 after the 38 tax they want to charge? Whats the trick

I can get 12gb version to 303 which isnt a bad deal i guess

      • +1

Ignore me. Set your currency in usd!!!

      • Best I could get was US$27.59 for the 12GB/256 version - worked out to be about AUD $316

        • +1

Using aud i had the 12gb version at $300,

Using usd i got the 8gb version to 167usd. I think i did an inefficient conversion method though so it was 267 total aud

    • Last time it worked for me through my computer not my mobile for some reason

  • Dont follow regarding CHINA ROM, does that mean its not really compatible in Australia ??

    • No, it will work fine in AU, you can just install google play services if you need them.

    • The China ROM can get OTA updates, the global can't. You can select English at first start up and get through most of the set up and decluttering pretty easy. Anything else just keep your phone handy with Google translate in camera mode.

      • +1

To add to this, install google keyboard from play store and change the keyboard settings to gboard. Delete all the Chinese pre installed apps and you're all set.

  • +4

I just bought it for the USD$167.90 (circa AUD$255).

Make sure you set the website to USD, because the there is $20USD coupon on USD$160 spend. Don't use the AUD version of the coupon which requires $300 spend.

So its USD$164 less USD$20 and when you taken into account taxes and shipping it comes back to USD$167 all in (circa $255).

    Hope that helps.

    Is the 12gb ram worthwhile?

    • Interested in this as well.

I assume more is better but is 8Gb enough for most scenarios?

    • I figured better to spend a bit extra on the storage instead. I got the 8/256GB which was $27 more I believe, as it states only the 256GB uses faster UFS4.0 storage.

I guess at some stage 12GB will be the norm but hoping 8GB is plenty for now. You can RAM boost up to 5GB which is a small dent in the 256GB

      • This takes Sd cards as well so I'll just put one of them in that I have laying around.

        • It was more about getting the faster NAND than the extra storage space for me. The jump to 12GB/256GB cost a fair bit more though.

    • Note the 12gb version also upgrades speed to UFS 4.0. I had no idea what this translates to in user experience but this person does
      https://youtube.com/shorts/v7JF9XRrl80?si=3LLMqNUMGPG1AZ7p

      • I'm not sure how much difference it will make real world but ran some tests on my 256GB Sequential speeds are pretty fast, but not consistent. Peaked at 3.79GB/s read, 1.4GB write.

Be great if anyone with 128GB could run a test on theirs. I used CPDT with an 8GB test file size.

  • Beauty, anybody has any warranty claims/issues with Ali?

    • +2

yes, you're not going to get any help from them after the stores warranty ends. Like 60 days or something silly.

  • Any recommendations for a case?

  • How does this compare to the Lenovo M11 which seems to have been popular in the past? https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/lenovo-tab…

    • +1

This is better with bigger screen/higher resolution, bigger battery, not sure about processor though.

    • +5

That officeworks model has an abysmal chipset. The Dimensity 8300 on this Aliexpress one destroys the officeworks one. It's not even close.

    • +2

It should be criminal trying to sell such a POS for that price. Entry level Helio G88 paired with 4GB RAM. Dimensity 8300 in this ranks 27th in mobile processors while the G88 ranks 162 ☠️

  • Anyone with this tablet work out how to change the default language in the default internet Explorer app to English? I have chrome installed but for the life of me can't change the menu language in the default Internet app.

Ps amazing tablet except for the adventure in working out some of the CN language prompts.

    • +5

I uninstalled pretty much all apps or disabled them and then installed mostly google apps as replacements. Chrome, gboard etc. why use the default internet app if you have another browser installed?

  • +1

You can save an extra $1.12 if you follow the store

    • Thanks for this - got it for $254 XD

  • Finally got one!

Any recommendations for a case? Didn't really like the look of the folio one thats in the listing

  • Can't get that code to work…

    • +3

      Ensure currency is USD

      • Thanks!

    • +1

Change to USD in Aliexpress App

  • Can i use this as a monitor?

    • Yes you can. There is a YouTube video

  • +2

A deal on the Lenovo legion y700 gen 4 would be nice if possible?

  • how to use this a secondary desktop monitor? Cant seem to find any instructions

  • Is it good enough for gaming as an iPad does?

  • speed wise - what is this likely to be equivalent to say compared to a Samsung tablet?

  • Does anyone reccomend a case and or pen for this please?

    • I bought the official Lenovo flip case for $28 from Amazon and it's highly recommended.

      • Can I ask does it wake/sleep with the genuine cover?

The AliExpress ones all say they do but nothing happens.

        • +1

Yes it does wake and sleep when you open and close the cover

          • @HardcoreDBZ: Thanks. I had another look and located the sensor (about 4.5cm down and across from top left.) Had tried passing a magnet over it before but must have missed it.

My Ali case does have a magnet in the right spot but it's not strong enough to trigger it.

Ah well. Wanted a tpu case that covered all the edges, pity the Lenovo is only available with the 4 corners (and hard plastic as far as I can tell?)

  • Bought one thank you!

  • +2

Be prepared to tinker with it if you want a half decent EN experience imo. Awesome price otherwise.

  • Should I sell my Galaxy Tab S9 for a $250 profit and buy this instead?

    • Only if size is the only things that matters to you. The Pad Pro is an entertainment beast. I would definitely consider getting one in the future as a kitchen tablet/tv for following along with recipes and such.

On the other hand, OLED on the Samsung is very nice especially if you use it in low light, and having a high-end Snapdragon chip means stuff like emulators are well supported with drivers and optimisation (most Nintendo Switch games will work (check out Kenji NX, Eden, and Sudachi).

  • Thanks clear… Been meaning to pick up a tablet for media consumption and this looks great. I ordered a case and matte screen protector too

  • Can someone compare screen quality with samsung S series old model like s4,s5. I'm afraid that I'm gonna miss the crisps of amoled panels

    • +1

Got this recently for relos, screen is IPS LCD, viewing angle not great, and PQ not as nice as AMOLED, but then again, it's $250 and you're not gonna get anything else better at this price.

    • I had the S4 tablet before I purchased this tablet a few months ago. To my surprise, the LCD is much better than I expected. The display is crisp and the black level is very good. I didn't miss the S4.

      • That's good. I thought I want be able to get rid of tm lol

  • Any suggested case with a flip stand?

  • Got my order cancelled just now..

  • Are they work as good as a Samsung tablet?

  • +2

I keep getting an error saying 'This coupon code can't be used in combination with other discounts'… have changed the currency to USD as well. Anyone having a similar issue?

    • Means the seller changed something and the deal expired, that was my experience with the last deal

    • Is $204 USD before discounts? Last sale my account had the same for some products and I couldn't figure out why. I had to use my second account.

  • Bought this about a month ago with the flip case and it has been good. Getting rid of the Chinese parts wasn’t too difficult and it already got an OTA update to android 15. The size takes some getting used to (that’s what she apparently said)

PS thanks Clear for all your awesome deals

  • Seller raised the price to USD$197 :(
With the coupon, it comes out at AUD$300 ish

    • It appears to be a stepped limit sale - so they gradually lift the price based on quantity sold.

Pretty sure they'll be another sale on these shortly - they've been consistently reducing in sale price

  • Seems expired to me. It is showing US$204.39 before coupons when selecting the correct bundle.

  • +1

Got one, thanks. The coupon paid the tax. (profanity) Gerry Harvey, this is why I never, ever shop at Harvey Norman.
