  • Thank OP

  • Thanks. Loaded up!

  • Can I use my ShopBack balance to pay?

    • The answer is yes you can

    • -2

Why don’t you try first. Dont be too needy

    • If your credit or debit card earns reward points then it's better to withdraw the ShopBack balance and charge the full amount to your card.

      • exactly.

I recently deleted Doordash app after comparing the prices of items for Cafes and Restaurants around my area as the prices in Doordash was significantly upto 20% higher compared to Menulog and upto 15% compared to UberEats. ( I compared on multiple occasions not just one time on one fine day. )
So, despite using the discounted gift-cards on Doordash I would end up paying higher.

Is it just me anybody else as well?
Or am I missing the hidden secret in Doordash?

    • +1

I haven’t compared but things do feel terribly expensive on DoorDash. Unfortunately sometimes it’s a matter of availability for certain shops or restaurants

    • +1

For me, UberEats had lower availability and higher costs.
DoorDash is usually best for delivery. Although we do sometimes use MenuLog too.

    • +2

For me at least they always have 40% off 'neighborhood favorites'. But if you don't combine the discounted gift cards with another offer then I'd say it's definitely not worth it..

      • Do pick-up order if possible (usually the price is cheaper)
      • Take advantage of any available promo codes (varies from time to time)
      • Use free DashPass with Amazon Canada (lower service fee + free delivery)
      • Pay with discounted GC

YMMV for some places you might still end up paying more than other platforms but if you are lucky, you'll find a few bargains in your area

      • +1

Yes, I mostly do pickups and in that case I order from the vendor's website or just call them directly to place order.
Sometimes, I have realised that pickup order paid with discounted ( at least 15%) turns out to be cheaper but that rarely happens.
        - Jacked Prices
        - Delivery fee
        - Service fee ( this is the killer fee when the app is already charging +25% commission from the vendor on the menu itel already )

The hidden secret is to stack promo codes/offers with discounted gift cards. That is all.

      • Promo code from Doordash, its super rare.

        • +1

It's quite common actually. Whether any are good is another question.

        • +2

There have been promos everyday with Doordash recently.

In the past month some include:

          $15 Hunger Tamers
          BOGOF Burrito Bowl
          BOGOF 6" Sub
          $10 Burger Deals
          12 Pieces Sweet & Sour Chicken $15
          50% off Asian Restaurants
          $10 Meals at Piccolo Me
          BOGOF 6" Sub
          $5 OG Bowls Fishbowl
25% off Large Meals Hungry Jack's
          $5 Burrito

Otherwise there is 40% off local restaurants which comes up quite often, as someone else mentioned. Also the odd 20% off up to $5 at particular restaurants. The grocery promos are generally the best, but rare, stacking Coles orders with discounted gift cards and the promo code.

Generally we are mixing between Uber Eats, DoorDash, Menulog etc. with discounted gift cards and wherever the promos come up. In combination with free UberOne from various credit cards and DashPass with Amazon Canada or via trials/50% off promos.

          • @hamza23: Thanks, I need to up my game with Doordash..

            • @TheMills: They went quiet last year and started again last month

  • +2

FYI, I was able to add and pay with my Coles MC GC.

Just make sure you don't remove the card from your account before cashback is confirmed.

    • Worked here also.

      • Does the restaurant choice cards don't work anymore? Otherwise a further 10% discount

        • Give it a go if you have one, but I couldn't get mine to add. I think it is hit and miss.

        • +1

They used to work sporadically, but no luck adding them lately.
TCN ones still work though, so If you have the TCN Restaurant Card you can buy these Doordash cards. Unfortunately the ones that don't have fast food won't work (Pub/Bar & Good Food), those only work with the Shopback Foodie Swap.

  • +1

I hope to see $1 deal for UberOne again

  • Darn it. Pulled the trigger too early on yesterday's Amazon promo on doordash. Only 12% for that.

    • +2

I'll probably be holding off for a 20% off hopefully as the quarter is coming to an end

      • +1

Yeah i was thinking of waiting until 29% comes around. Shopback offers that not infrequently but I have been using doordash alot lately with their smash promo lol and so decided to pull the trigger.

  • Thanks OP.

  • Temporarily unavailable

    • Same error with mine..

      • +1

Same error, even via desktop. Very annoying. I've emailed them.

        • Have contacted them too. They are looking into it

          • @wataripoff: I have contacted them as well, still awaiting their reply.

            • @bird380: Seems to be fixed. Just copy your codes to a notepad or something when it loads.

              • @machej: Mine is just fixed as well, thanks for your update!

    • Ended up by doing walk in store.

    • Got the same message for all 6 of the doordash gc I bought from shop back. Need to message them too.

Luckily the ones I bought from Amazon worked.

  • +1

Down to 10% and looks like "Unavailable" now.

  • Mine is still not working, never had this happen before with DoorDash gift cards at ShopBack.
Contacted customer service and they are “working on resolving the issue”. Really frustrating.

    • Our team is diligently working on resolving the issue, and we anticipate providing you with a comprehensive update within the next 21 days. We understand the impact this may have on your experience, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused.

      • Thanks bird380.

  • Anyone got theirs fixed yet? I reckon we might have to wait till smash bonanza is over lol

    • Yes, mine was fixed. Definitely contact customer service if you haven’t already.
      But I know…missed today’s $10 burger, lol.

      • Ah that’s great thanks for the update. Just checked mine still cannot be accessed

        • Mine is just fixed. You can have a look :)
