D’oh! It’s on the same night as the men’s netball…

So let me get this right, the biggest rivalry + a State of Origin and they are giving 2 for 1 tickets?

Why can’t the do this with the NRL or AFL?

    • +7

Average attendance of those games in low hundreds. Likely family members with free passes

      • +1

Low hundreds? Try 13k and 18k last year at the two games

        • +2

Few thousand paid tickets at best, the rest would have been freebies/2-for-1/corporate tix etc

Women's sport being commercially viable is a meme. Not saying they shouldn't have the opportunity to play, but it's not a priority for most people when they have a limited time budget and the elite competition is on TV 4 days per week already, in prime time.

      • +11

But hang on, equal pay, EQUAL PAY

        • +5

No one in the NRLW says this.

Stop watching TikTok and YT shorts and be educated before being a dick.

The average salary is $37K for 5 months work so most players need other jobs to live.

It's these sorts of promotions that will help fill seats and grow their sport.

          Grow up.

          • @Phreakuency: Not yet, they need to get some decent crowds first to justify pay claims. So of you cam sell tickets at 10% of what the men's tickets go for, add on some 2 for 1 bonus, they might get a decent crowd.

Exactly, the quality is quite literally probably 12 to 13 year old boys rugby league, that's not any sort of exaggeration.

The only people going to these games/watching them on TV are doing so either,

        A. To make a political statement (hey look at me, I support the womens!),

        B. Because they are family or friends.

Or C. Because they had literally nothing else to do and tickets were dirt cheap/free. They aren't going to watch high quality sport/entertainment.

        • they are gettin more competitive though… was horrible to watch when it began… gettin better

        • I enjoy watching the finals/grand final. They show a lot of passion and there's a few really crafty women with a lot of speed. Would obviously prefer to watch the men's game but it's fun to watch the women play too.

  • anything available for nsw?

    • i dont think they do Not Safe For Work.

if someone paid me ill attend. and that's payment on top of some free tickets.

  • Keen to try first time but only need 1 ticket

Which ones? Remember, facts don’t care about your feelings.

I enjoy the women’s game, good to know that here is another game that the young ones can play.

  • Wow, they will let women do anything these days eh.

  • Booking fee is more than the price of admission.

  • Does this give free train travel from GC?

  • +2

    19:45 kick-off time… lol
    organisers are cooked

    • +1

Pretty sure it's television that is stipulating that. So they can fit in all their crap, half-baked, advertainment , "news programs" first

  • +2

Lol at the booking fee ($8.60) being higher than the individual ticket cost ($7.50ea)

  • First time watching a live game, can anyone recommend best seating area?

    • +2

From your sofa at home infront of the TV.

    • 15 rows back on the halfway line.
