I wouldn't trust eblobal… feedback on whirlpool and facebook doesn't give me any confidence…

    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1552392&p…

    • Just check their facebook pages. Many people were complaining about their customer service and unanswered tickets/messages as well.

    • I cant even register with them because I have a home VOIP number …and they dont accept voip numbers apparently.

    • Bought and paid for a Nikon lens a week ago and have heard nothing except a auto reply advising they received my order. Daily checks on my order status and all I see is 'processing'. Try to raise my concern about delay through online chat and they just keep you on hold

    • 10 days after order was placed and still no confirmation of delivery.

    • Their customer service is way too slow and disappointing. Don't buy from this company because when you had problems with your item, that's it. You have to deal with their crappy customer service for weeks or months.

    • eGlobal is the single biggest online shopping mistake I have ever made. Trying to communicate with them is an infuriating experience to say the least.

…and this are just over the last few weeks…

What people are saying over at productreview seems to be quite similar, 20 out of 30 reviews are 1 star.

No sign of a rep trying to sort any of the issues out either, definitely not a good sign. Seems if you have a problem, you get the silent treatment.

We desperately need a store reputation voting system here.

      • you get the silent treatment.

kind of like how they are responding to comments on their deal…

Rep is currently online, but no response to defend these comments…

        • the responses are on hold….

  • Seems a deal, given G12 is over $400 on eBay.
Or too good to be true?

$49 Shipping… RIP OFF. If its so expensive at least put shipping in title!!!

Or give us ozbargainers free shipping :P

    • very true - should be in title - I have reported it.

still a good price even with shipping

With the reputation mentioned in the first two posts I would buy elsewhere… even pay more.

Google says that you usually sell it for $415

    So a saving of $45 :)

  • Can also use discount coupon code "CHK10" for $10 off, further reducing the price.

Will hopefully get this tonight if I can borrow some money!

Colleague bought his Sony Nex7 from eglobal and said it was fantastic - super fast shipping (came within 3-4 days) and stress free.

Planning to get this and the WPDC48 underwater housing for some great Scuba shots!

I see you registered today and this is your first comment, so on behalf of everyone here, welcome to the forum! Very much appreciate the coupon tip, your positive feedback about eglobal and enthusiasm for this camera.

    • some great Scuba shots!

Where in Melbourne do you go scuba diving?

      • i believe if you dig yourself a hole that is deep enough then there are some interesting things to see :P

      • Melbourne, despite the cold, has actually got some fantastic diving! So many wrecks in and around port phillip bay. It's more wreck diving than reef diving as the water is so cold. I'm diving off Rye Pier this Saturday (tomorrow) and then a boat dive on Boarfish Reef ex-Queenscliff on Sunday. Also Cray and Scallop diving early December!

    • I ordered one yesterday afternoon. Will report back once I received the camera. I live in Sydney.

  • In all seriousness rep…. (if you are even there)
go have a look at the history of a company like catch of the day on ozbargain.
they have had their ups and downs - but rather than run away they have dug their heels in and got on with it.

there is still hope for you (the ozbargain community suffer from short term memory loss when you come up with ripper deals and make a serious effort to please them)

  • I've purchased twice from eGlobal this year without much in the way of problems.

The first was a waterproof panasonic compact FT-3 - I ordered one colour, nothing seemed to happen, changed it through online chat and it arrived 2 days later.

The second was a tamron lens for my dad in the first week of October, their online ordering seemed to struggle with me changing contact details but they fixed it up through online chat that night and it turned up 3 days later.

I would say they're honest but communication problems can happen more often than you might expect. Sure, delivery is expensive, but it's not like it's a surprise. If the price is right I keep buying from them.

  • Shop reputation aside, its an excellent price. About $20 cheaper than DWI.

  • Quite surprised at all the comments about the store, eglobal is the only online store I use for camera products. Ive spent over $7000 on camera gear, from lenses to bodies to accessories and every time the order has arrived smoothly and swiftly, within 3 days. The first order though they did have to call to validate my authenticity, but from then on the orders have been quite fast.
When I ordered my 5d mkiii I chose to go with another company (ddphotograpics) as it was a bit cheaper, but took over a week to arrive, even though they have a pickup/storage location in Sydney, wish I had spent the extra money and gone with eglobal instead, would've saved me from ping pong emails following up on why my order was "processing" for over a week.
Highly recommend eglobal though, they process and ship orders pretty fast which is what I like most, apart from competitive pricing..
Will probably buy my canon 50mm 1.2L from them too.

  • Price and shop aside:
Is the camera any good? Was reading about the Lumix LX7 but now I am not sure which one to get. Any recommendations?

  • although the experts seem reasonably pleased with this camera http://www.dpreview.com/previews/canon-powershot-g15

is 12MP going to be enough to sell in the marketplace and allow large prints?

my canon G7 is 10MP you reach the image quality limits pretty quick if you want to print on canvas.
