  • Does anyone have this? How does this compare to Ozito or Ryobi quality?

    • +1

Only got this a couple weeks ago, I would say the quality is on par but haven't had it long enough to truly confirm this. Battery life isn't great. I would say it needs 2 3ah or 2 4ah batteries. So far the whipper snipper is far better than my Ozito one which I'll be getting rid of. My Ozito "thread" would constantly snap.

      • i have some rockwell stuff

the 'problem' is you only have the small selection of skins from mitre 10 and so if you dont see what you want then good luck

also they're not releasing much new stuff so its not a good system to dip your toe in

like with ozitos at least they have good distro good warranty and the batteries are cheap

        • Rockwell do have quite a lot of skins and the batteries work with Worx which is actively create lots of other weird and wonderful products. So i think its a good eco system to buy into. All common garden and diy tools are covered i think?

            • @tonyjzx: Yes in general but semi regularly they have stuff on sale. I have a Worx line trimmer and pressure washer. Amazon have deals every now and then.

            • @tonyjzx: I think XU1 tools from Bunnings and possibly ToolPro 18v tools from SCA also use the same batteries

          • @10101010101: They arent 100% compatible unfortunately, I have a worx blower and mower too. I need to file a notch on the Rockwell battery, I haven't done this yet.

            • +2

@pepper84: Yes - plastic notch can be cut off with a stanley knife. I've done it with mine on a couple of batteries.

            • @pepper84: Does the worx battery fit these without modification?

        • I've also got two 3d printed adaptors to use my ozito batteries

  • Looks identical to the Aldi one

    • +1

1 key difference is its battery operated not petrol

      • aldi sell a 2x18V 5-in-1 garden tool skin as well for $199 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/732697 . sometime in october

        • You need to add battery to the cost since Aldi ones are without battery.

          • @desibaba: definitely. for this type of application you really need a set of gruntier batteries. i'm not sure how long 2AH batteries are going to last. might be OK for small areas

Im so frustrated with all these battery brands we need to strongly encourage brands to consolidate like other technologies do.

I have incompatible designs / brands and even useless victa that cannot be purchased due to their poor design rust internally after few months.
Causing them to fail just out of warranty so noone wants to retail the spares.

    Bosch 3 types,
    Ryobi 2 types
    Victa

    • Rockwell are compatible with Worx and SCA and possibly other brands. So its a good eco system with tools readily available

I share your frustrations. This discussion thread provides some guidance on which battery systems are compatible with others: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/591076

    • The Victa 82v battery system is effectively the same as the Greenworks, Snapper, and Kobalt range of 80v/82v tools (and vice-versa). You just need to trim the battery housing slightly to get them to fit.

  • Has anyone body tried to get Bunnings to price match on their set ? https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-36v-2-x-18-brushless-4…

  • Just bought this and having problems installing the guard on the line trimmer.

The guard doesnt stay in place with the screw tightened all the way. Anyone else had the same problem?
