Saw this deal while searching for OLED Ultrawide monitors, no idea on when it finishes but I haven’t seen it this cheap anywhere else.

OLED Price are too high :( I could buy 4x S3422DWG with this money.

2ms vs 0.1ms Grey to Grey, GSync Ultimate and OLED being (broadly speaking) significantly superior in colour and black reproduction.
I mean yeah if you’d rather a Corolla than a Porche, go for it.
You aren’t wrong that OLED prices are a bit silly though.

Sorry, this is often $1500 or less - you can use the search function to look up previous deal prices.

  • The updated DWF model was $1,428 in November

    • The DWF is not an updated model. It’s the exact same display but with AMD Freesync instead of Nvidia GSync with a 10FPS reduction.

By updated I mean released after. You’re correct in that the DW has those advantages but the DWF allows the user to update the firmware themselves. Depends what you value more

Point still stands however a very similar version was much cheaper recently. Revised model is probably better description

DW now has upgradeable firmware too

          • +1

@cille745: How does one tell if the DW has upgradeable firmware? I know the first gen one didn't have this. IS it based on serial number?

            • +2

@Davion: All of them have it now. Nvidia made the firmware of the gsync module upgradeable via sending data over display port. I upgraded my launch one.

Can't wait for something to replace OLED's, Unless you are extremely cautious it's far too prone to burn in for anything but casual users for a monitor.

agreed but i bought one anyway… once the warranty is up ill sell it immediately.

      • FWIW I've been using my AW3423DW for well over a year now with zero care factor for burn in. 10+hrs a day using windows light mode with taskbar on and no signs of burn in at all.

    • Burn in is a massively over stated concern. There are minimal reports of OLED TVs getting burn in and some of them are many many years old now. I’ve had an LG C2 for two years now, display perfection.

      • Ive had my LG A1 for over 2 years now too and it's fine as well cause it's only used for TV/Movies, i bought the AW3423DW and it had burn in able to be seen easily in Games and videos in 8 months of owning it.

        First gen QD-OLED's absolutely suck.

Bought mine for $1.4k a year ago and no issues at all.🙏🏽

    The best monitor I used.

Looks like Dell are also selling it the same price:

    DW $1,679.70 - https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/alienware-34-curved-qd-oled-…

The DWF looks to be at its all time lowest though(lazy to create ozb post for this):
    DWF $1,399.20 - https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/alienware-34-curved-qd-oled-…

Would be nice if Dell has some stackable codes.

  • isnt the DWF better? just misses G sync

    • DWF has 10hz lower refresh rate, but has user upgradeable firmware (Apparently DW has this now too) and significantly lower input latency due to not having the GSync module (Monitors Unboxed did a great video showing this: https://youtu.be/b0aLF3KVOTQ).

      • Isn't there some sort of issue with HDR on the DWF? Or has that been fixed now??

        • Monitors Unboxed did an update video on the DWF a few months after their initial review, specifically around the HDR issues which were fixed with a firmware update.

AW3423DWF is cheaper at $1,400 and just as good as the DW model (if not better) since it has additional features such as PIP, one less fan and can be updated without requiring an Nvidia card.

Don't see really see reason to get this at this price point. Newer and better OLEDs are constantly coming into the market this year and they'll be more next year and the next.
