      Lazy.

  • Tell 'em the … nevermind

  • Good price for a rear drive with a big battery. This is not road legal in some states due to the 500W.

  • +1

That bike is definitely not street legal in Victoria due to throttle (should be pedal assist) and 500W (should be 250 or lower) motor and 44kph top speed (should be 25). But if you are prepared to risk it then seems like a good price

    • I'll risk it, I average 35km/hour when riding my bike, 25km is insane

      • yeah, i go 30 or 35 so it is a weird limit

The 2.4 foot tyres alone normally cost more. Haulpack?

Another low quality 'one size fits all' hub motor bike with low specification components and 26" wheels ?

For $200 less you can get an XDS Advance Pro 600 Mid Drive or XDS E-Spresso S2 Mid Drive from many XDS dealers around the country in 2 sizes and 2 colours.

Thanks! Stupid question maybe (just starting to research ebikes) but why don't they list the weight of the bike in the specs section? Or is the weight not really that important since the motor will be assisting you…

There are 2 types of eBike riders.
        1. "Lazy ones" who put bike in one gear and let the motor do the work and do little physical effort, just turn the pedals so the motor activates. Transport.
        2. "Active riders" who put good physical effort into their riding and use the motor as assistance.

Weight is commensurate with motor and battery. So frames and components need extra strength to carry weight of motor and battery. Vicious cycle.
Better quality bikes have better quality components and generally lighter. But weight is not a big factor to consider when eBike shopping.

A mid drive motor will generally outlive a hub motor. Better off buying a bike from a known bicycle manufacturer / brand, instead of a reseller of 'no name' blank box bikes with DIY assembly. Lack of detailed specifications says it all…

    From NSW gov:
    Electrically power-assisted cycles

An electrically power-assisted cycle has a maximum continued rated power of up to 500 watts. This power output must be:

progressively reduced as the bicycle’s speed increases beyond 6km/h
    cut off when:
your bicycle reaches a speed of 25km/h
you stop pedalling and the speed exceeds 6km/h.

The electric motor should not assist the rider when travelling more than 25km/h but does not prevent the rider travelling faster with their own pedalling or going downhill.

    • Very specific requirements! Would love to know if anyone has an ebike that meets all this, and they're happy with the quality.

  • OP question for you - Is it delivered built-up/assembled?

NO, look at the assembly video in the link.
