    I went to buy a watch, and the man in the shop asked ‘Analogue?’ I said ‘No, just a watch'

      If he didn't get it the first time, digital it a second time?

    Wow, the first Bulova I’ve seen that I actually like. I’ll need yet another automatic winder though 😫

      Not a fan of winders, it's kind of like leaving your car running when you park it.

        @Pollywaffle: Go for it, you won’t regret it. I own few automatic watches from different brands and love them.

        I inherited my Grandpa’s Bulova sea king automatic watch in 2004. I think he bought it in 1972.
        Initially for few years I did not wear it but when I strarted wearing it, I noticed it was lagging by few minutes(around 5 to 10mins plus or minus) every day so got it serviced in 2010.
        It has never missed a beat since. I don’t wear it often, probably once or twice a month. It’s nearly 52yrs old watch now and still going strong. I am planning to get it serviced this year so I don’t have to worry about it for another 10 to 15yrs. If you take care of your automatic watch it will last for generations.
        My watch is in a similar condition as the one that is on etsy, the only difference is mine has the original metal strap. Brown leather strap compliments the watch much better than the metal strap that I own. Bulova Sea King Automatic

        @WatchNerd: I like your analogy 😊

        I don’t mind quartz ,solar or even smartwatches as I have few of each.
        But I tend to like automatic watches more than the rest. I can’t speak for others, but I love automatic watches for their intricate craftsmanship and traditional watchmaking techniques, making them a more unique and special timepiece, plus if they are made with high-quality materials they will last for generations, whereas as we all know smart watches needs to be replaced more frequently (planned obsolescence)😊 😊
        I also think automatic watches as a valuable investment that can hold or increase in value over time, especially if they are well-maintained and come from a reputable brand.

      It takes ~1-2 minutes to set a watch, even with a date complication. I don't see the point of a winder unless it's an annual, perpetual, etc.

      • Yeh 30s and you could set an automatic with date including winding. Some people don't have time but they can watch 5h of telly during the day.

        I like both (autos and solar quartz, good to have some of each). It's all part of the journey.

        I'd look at the Bulova Jet Star. Skeletons, grow up.. 😆
