ShopBack Ticketek Gift Card Activation Wait Time?

Hi All,

Looking to buy some tickets on Ticketek and bought some gift cards on Shopback last night to use. Seems they can take up to 48 hours to activate. Can anyone advise how long they usually take based on experience?

Kind of frustrating that Shopback makes them available to use immediately. Would be better that they stay pending until they recieve confirmation from Ticketek has actually activated them so we know when we can use them. The error message when using them on Ticketek's website is confusing as it says Credit card declined rather than Gift card. I didnt realise it took 48 hrs for the cards to activate and kept trying other credit cards all with the same error. Wasnt unitl i bought another $50 gift card to make up the balance that i realised it had to be the gift cards and not my credit cards.

    Immediate fulfillment for Live Gift Cards can give rise to people buying Gift Cards in quantity that can then purchase Tickets that can be resold at a Premium.

    Having a delay means questionable purchases can be rejected or that people who are contacted with flagged transactions can reject them.

      I get that but it also creates issues for those who are buying legitimately. Surely there are better control methods to stopping scalpers. And i doubt scalpers are worried about 3.5 % cashback. I suspect this is simply a deficiency in their system. I mean the fact that the payment system cant even properly identify that its my gift card thats the issue and not a credit card kind of says it all.

      What denominations were they? I bought a 500 and its still not activated. Hopefully will be ready by tonight when its been 48 hrs.

    Well 48 hrs later and still not working. Very frustrating.
