[SUBS] Oppenheimer Will Be Available to Stream from Friday 22 March @ Netflix

4094

More of a PSA for those tempted to purchase/rent this movie, particularly given all the recent awards success. But if you can wait six more days, it’ll be free to stream on Netflix from this coming Friday March 22. I believe it is also coming to Binge on the same day. Enjoy.

Users who wish to Block "Additions to Streaming Services" can do so by clicking on the Streaming Service Addition tag, then clicking the 3 dot menu, then clicking hide on new deals and/or front page. Ensure that on the home page, the new front page is selected for customisation to show. Video Instructions here or More info here.

And guess who killed hitler, himself! No one had the guts to kill hitler cause most probably saw no evil.

I must have missed the history lesson that talked about him just being a misunderstood depressed emo

      • +1

He (hitler) was just a very naughty boy. 🤣

Never heard of it. Any good?

Man that rock you live under could protect you from a nuclear blast.

      • I see what you did there

    • I thought it was drawn out garbage, could have done the movie in 30 minutes

      • You could tell every story in 30 minutes.
People wouldn't feel they would be getting value for money.
Although I'm not a fan of 3h+ movies for the sake of it though.

        • Without a doubt you could, but for me, this was as boring as Gravity. I would have walked out of the cinema 30 minutes in, but was with others, so dragged through utter boringness.

          • @BatmanAU: Lessons learnt, probably pays to look at some reviews, IMDb ratings, know the run-time.
7 or 8 Oscar nominations may disagree with you, but everyone is allowed an opinion.

I got caught out with killer's on a Flower Moon, insanely long and boring, 3h26 😂.

  • Ahhh Hollyweird. They have a knack of taking an amazing story and coating it in a layer of BS that makes it visually spectacular and oh so boring. Even my favourites "based on a true story" movies have to throw in infuriatingly fake nonsense that never came close to happening "to add drama".

thanks, i wanted to watch this!

  • +1

i already seen it while i was sailing but they must have paid a pretty penny to nab that movie

  • +1

Who watched this at Melbourne IMAX? You lucky bastards

    • Best experience ever! Largest 15/70 screen in the world!

      • Unfortunately Sydneysiders have to be content with digital version at IMAX

  • I wonder if I could watch it, having the cheaper subscription

    • +1

Wouldn't you have all thats showing except yours come with ads?

A friend just showed me Stremio RB a week ago. And it's amazing. Can't believe we're paying $$$ every month for the ever increasing number of streaming services.

  • +4

Real Debrid + Stremio are your friends

  • -1

    been on Stremio for yonks.

  • +3

Paying for a Netflix sub is the lazy (exorbitant) tax.

Stremio + Real Debrid for like $25 for 6 months. Everything all in one place. Look it up on Reddit. Less than an hours work for someone who isn't a techie, 15 mins or less if you are

I kept my Turkish Netflix account along with it only due to not wanting to lose it. They did me a favour by cancelling my sub.

    • Do you need a VPN for streamio to watch torrented movies?

      • +1

the Real Debrid part reduces the risk… so you don't need one. but it certainly won't hurt

        • Correct, I don't bother - you aren't manually going to get the torrents but streaming a cache server apparently.
Still not sure on legalities but pw sharing and VPN price hacks were violating NF terms of service already no doubt.

A VPN could slow down your traffic, but depends how many users in the house, could be ok. May test leaving it on Google TV sometime but it's mostly paranoia. Not too worried about it.

        • +1

No reason whatsoever to use VPN with RD

          • @liongalahad: Yes that's what i said- i don't but some people don't understand how it works or paranoid.

            • @G-rig:

i don't but some people don't understand how it works or paranoid.

              yep like @loingalahad

          • -1

@liongalahad: not quite true. whoever has control of RD servers, knows who you, your IP address and what you've watched/ downloaded. So when it gets taken down/over (it will happen), using a VPN to access will cloak your IP address.

So yes there is a reason, but it depends on how worried you are about law enforcement/copyright owner having access to that kind of data.

      • +2

VPN will hide your IP if you use a normal torrent service, so it may be recommended depending on the circumstances
But you won't need it at all if you use Real Debrid as you are streaming from an https link and the content is fully encrypted (same as if I were to share a file with you privately on a wetransfer or any file transfer service)

        • Do you used a vpn or have put it into the she'll be right category

          • @G-rig: I use VPN for other things, I don't use it with RD becasue, as per above, it's pointless.

    • +1

I’m on the exact same boat as you.

Netflix should have just accepted the $11ish bucks a month.

Did us both a big favour 👏

    • +3

They did me a favour by cancelling my sub.

      ditto

    • Stremio + Real Debrid

Most I watched with Stremio were OK without RD, 4K HDR, I am using AussieBB

      • it is if you have a real good connection and dont care for older and/or foreign movies
Personally I have a pretty basic 25 mbps connection, and I often watch stuff that has little or no seeders, so for me RD is paramount

    • Im starting to get nervous , this password sharing and overseas sub crackdown from netflix is pushing more and more people to RD, I feel it's matter of time before the majors will take notice and start a war against it… Impossible for them to know what files are being streamed so they will try to get the whole service closed and made illegal. Probably time for RD to move their servers and hardquarters to the Cayman Islands or similar

      • They would already have quite a good server setup you would think.
The majors may take notice and could lower their prices.
Nice of Tidal to reduce their Hi-Fi Plus tier sub, family $10 pm now which is fair (TH).

      • Dunno why people think it’s a good idea to give payment info to rd lol

        • +1

exactly, comments from people whose actual knowledge is inversely proportional to what they think it is (what we called cybergods back in the 90's).

RD is a small step to protecting yourself vs torrents, but @liongalahad really shouldn't be issuing advice to people as they've obviously not across the technology or legal aspects of stremio & RD, etc.

        • Just pay with disposable card (wise, revolut), at least so they can't bill you again but still has your name and could be tracked.

Someone mentioned paying by crypto off an exchange, haven't heard how you'd do this exactly (maybe metamask etc).

I wonder if people are worried about everything as much as they worry about some of this stuff.

Amazing movie, glorification of unjustified genocide.

"let's do it just because we can. F yeah!"

Another historically inaccurate, fabricated movie for reassuring it's citizens that we have the balls when it's crunch time (short fuse a bit in the head) to push the button for defending our freedom and our way of life… We do it responsible and justified as in Vietnam, Iraq, now in Ukraine and Gaza…

    • +3

you understood absolutely nothing about the movie didn't you

      • +3

I doubt that they've even seen it based on what they believe the purpose of the movie was.

        • +1

yes, idiocy at its clearest display lol

  • i just downloaded a torrent file via RD the speed was 30mbps to 50mbps sheeeshhh

  • btw is anyone still able to share their netflix across different households?? For me does not work in app version but if i use edge to login it hasnt given any errors yet

    • before they killed mine, we set up a VPN on our router and people could VPN to us and watch that way.

      • ah i'm just using my sister's account, we rarely talk/she's far away from me so that'd be difficult to set up haha

but yeah that sounds like a good way to get around it.

Did anyone think this was the best film of the year?

Poor year for film but I thought All of us strangers and May December were much better

    • -1

It's such a great movie, probably my favourite ever from Nolan (maybe with the Dark Knight, which is a vastly different kind of film). Definitely worthy of the oscar for best picture in my opinion, but I havent seen most of the other contenders this year so I can't say if any of the other films was more worthy than Oppenheimer.

P.S. Definitely way way more worthy than last year's winner in my opinion.

  • -1

Most probably just in Full HD not 4k.

      • Happened with Maverick if you didn't notice.

        • No I didn't notice mate.
It's not even on Netflix Au yet so perhaps just wait instead of speculate.

  • Get on the rr’s automation processes
