Screen Protector Allowing Fingerprint Unlock for S23 Series

After one of these. I'm currently on my 3rd screen protector with no luck. I just get the option to 'press harder' or 'cover the entire fingerprint sensor'.

I've deleted my existing fingerprint data since applying the screen protectors, turned on increased screen sensitivity and still no luck.

Any recommendations on a screen protector that allows me to use fingerprint unlock?

TIA.

You will need either a plastic screen protector or a glass one with plastic in the fingerprint area. Alternatively you can get a UV glued glass screen protector but from my experience they are a mess to install and remove.

I second this. Was having all sorts of finger print reading issues on my Pixel 7 Pro with screen protectors… Went and got a UV glue type one and you wouldnt even know it is on there and the reader works flawlessly now.

I got the Spigen Glass screen protector. Not a single issue. https://www.progadgets.com.au/spigen-galaxy-s24-ultra-ez-fit…

My partner has s23 and use glass screen protector from amazon, no issues with fingerprint scanner.

IMBZBK for Samsung Galaxy S23 Screen Protector Tempered Glass 4 pack $9.99

I have s23 ultra using TPU film screen protector (not glass) and also no issues with fingerprint scanner.

    • Thanks but there are many options for Milomdoi from the site. Pls advise which one you bought.

It is the one I linked. Currently there is no stock in Amazon AU, but if you click on "See All Buying Options" it is available from Amazon UK, Amazon Germany, Amazon US. I do not recommend spending $40+ shipping from overseas lol was only $6.99 when I bought it in October 2023.

I think it would be easier if you provide which S23 you have, some brands only make them for S23 others only for S23 Ultra. So you will get a variety of brands and recommendations here some not suitable for you.

  • Unsure if it's common practice for everyone, but when you set your finger print, use all of the available slots it allows for.
I've found it helps unlock at whatever angle you end up pressing with.

I use IMBZK and it works flawlessly. It's expensive and the application can be tricky. I've heard good things about the magic John screen protectors and they look super easy to install.

  • Maybe I've been lucky, but I have never used a Screen Protector on any of my iPhones (5, 7plus, 8plus, 14 Plus Max), and I have never suffered any sort of scratch on the screens!
