Hey all, can confirm that this Bonus will apply to any tracked purchase including those for 0% Cashback categories.

    • +3

      @G-rig @arcticmonkey @brandogs @Hiphopopotamus @linkindan FYI

    • with TopCashback and Cashrewards having cashback on all categories this week - i.e. no 0% categories - will ShopBack follow suit?

also what’s the redemption limit for this deal?

      • and can you clarify this @gotyourback?

      • Hey mate, can't confirm any offers that might run in future, but other Cashback services and us won't always have identical offers.

As for redemption of this one it is once per user.

        • thanks, but re redemption limit, i meant how many rewards available in total?

if too limited, then given popularity, shouldn’t it be opt-in instead of redemption to avoid issues?

          • @tonester: Hey mate, sorry for the confusion. There isn't a limit on this one, can be redeemed by all between now and midnight.

            • @gotyourback: thanks - couldn’t see a counter, but T&Cs include:

              Available while redemptions last.

              • @tonester: Those are just general terms, and could refer to the timeframe as well as a redemption limit.

    • Appreciate you for confirming this.

For future promos it possible to have the correct terms and conditions displayed under the promotion for when it goes live? This would eliminate all doubt and waiting for confirmation by the rep if the correct T&C's were displayed beforehand.

The incorrect wording in the T&C's is still being displayed at the time of this comment

      • Hey mate, that's a standard wording for our challenges and is actually not incorrect, "excluded" categories do exist under Amazon and refer to (from the "Cashback Exclusions" portion of their terms):

        • Purchases with the use of any codes entered manually in the 'Promo Code' Field
        • Items added to your cart prior to clicking through from ShopBack
        • Pre-ordered items scheduled to ship over 60 days post purchase
        • Reccurring Subscribe and Save Orders orders in the non-cashback eligible categories
        • Prime membership subscription purchases, Gift Cards, Kindle Unlimited, Mobile Apps, Audible, Echo Accessories, Kindle Access

Heard the feedback here and will pass it on to the team.

    • Thanks mate

Where are those $3 bonus with spending $30 GCs from CR and SB? Seems like Topcashback is taking over with their cb deals lol

    • +1

They don't need to run those promos anymore.
More people are using these sites to gain a small % of cashback due to inflation.
Exact same reason for less discount on gift cards.

  • +1

I find myself not ordering from Bezos anymore. Temu's prices and it's Return policy FTW

    • +14

CCP thanks you for you allegiance ( and data)

      • +1

Believe it or not your data only worths only $2 on the black market. The other parties have already owned enough of that lol.

      • +2

Lmao better than US government holding my data. Just ask Snowden and Assange

        • They already hold it so jokes on you.

  • +3

Have not shopped at Amazon since last Sep.
Can always find cheaper price somewhere else/ Pricebeat @ OW/ Bunnings nowadays.

  • +1

I don't use Amazon much either. Big W kicks their butt for Lego. JB perks for games and movies. Amazon is now only for importing stuff that's hard to find here.

  • +1

    Link for desktop users.

  • +3

is this only for new customers?.. terms state "Limited to one bonus per customer at their first purchase at Amazon Australia via Shopback"

  • +1

They should just make all of the 0 categories 0.1% to avoid all doubt

  • how do these shopback cashback businesses make any money? do they charge the seller / retailer an referral fee of sorts? and if so, would this not be adding fuel to the inflation fire?

    • +1

Hey mate - ShopBack and other similar services work via affiliate marketing, stores pay out a commission on the purchase and we use that commission to pay out Cashback. There are many other ways to market that also cost stores money, so no I wouldn't say that they contribute to inflation any more than any other form of marketing.

  • @gotyourback Is this for new Amazon customers?
T&Cs on app: Limited to one bonus per customer at their first purchase at Amazon Australia via Shopback.

    • Nah it isn't, I think that's referring to the first purchase after op-in. Let me double check the wording with the team.

    • Hey mate, confirmed that this is for all users, was just a typo in the terms. Have amended.

      • Thanks for checking

  • Thanks OP

  • +1

Cashrewards says 15% cashback on all categories (not up to). Then when you click on it, they are mostly <1%.

  • Thanks OP! :)

  • Toys 0% waaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • HI. Where is the activation?

  • +1

Can we pay using the gift card?

    • so far I only found TGG on both CR & SB would deny GC cashback though it did list in T&C

  • Does this work for Amazon Warehouse items?

  • -3

    Temu > amazon

    • Why?

    • What is Temu?

  • Made an Amazon purchase 30 hours ago and it didn’t track

      • Cashrewards tracked in 12 hours but not shopback

    • Same.

    • Same here. Still no tracking. Time to submit claim? @gotyourback

  • +1

my purchases have tracked, but the bonus challenge has not.

    • Same. Neither did the purchase to enter and win 1 of 2 $500 cashback prizes challenge.

    • Also tracked but challenge order details still says no orders tracked yet.

Noticed my Amazon tracking is listed at 17/3 not 18/3 so I guess they need to adjust something at their end…

@gotyourback do we just wait it out?

      • Same. I have my transactions listed as 17/03 23:30 even though they were made on 18/03 🤷‍♂️

        • Mine is listed as 18/03 at 12am and it’s not tracked so something is going on.

          • @wdw: might be due to batch processing period - has happened before, which presumably resolved @gotyourback?

            • @tonester: The transactions have tracked but the $3 hasn’t updated. It happened in that $10 thing to me too. But you would think that as this is an Amazon specific challenge it would be coded to ensure it works but who knows something has happened in the back end. My guess is as Amazon send them as 12am and we all joined the challenge after 12am it’s not tracked the transactions on the challenge. They will have to do something in backend to correct it.

        • Tracked in challenge now (transaction still tracked as 17/3)

      • While the challenge has updated and is showing as 'completed', do people actually see the $3 bonus in their account, i.e., in their Cashback Overview? I don't …

        • It will only appear once the tracked purchase is confirmed.

          • @Hiphopopotamus: No, usually challenge bonuses appear in the account as 'pending' once the associated purchase is tracked and the challenge turns 'completed'. In this case the purchase has tracked, and challenge 'completed', but the bonus hasn't appeared in the account (even as 'pending').

  • Same here, mine tracked 'calculating' but didn't complete the challenge.

So far it's still 0 rewards claimed, safe to say there's an issue on their end. Hopefully it gets fixed.

  • Mine has also tracked as calculating

  • Is anyone's challenge still showing as "finalizing result"? My purchase has tracked and the other challenge that was on at the same time for "make a purchase at amazon to win 1 out of 2 $500 cashback prizes" has also completed, but this one is still showing as "finalizing result"?

    • Yeh mine is finalising result , think it’s because the Amazon tracking is still calculating

      • Mine has failed now. Anyone had this issue and any luck contacting shopback?

        • My cash back is still calculating

          • @strikerzebra: yes mine too but I thought that's probably because we bought 0% category items and usually that will show as calculating, but this challenge supposed to be ok with 0% categories too

  • Contacted shopback and now they said my amazon cashback has been rejected due to the "usual" reasons which is nonsense. Has anyone got that as well?

    • Same here mine also just got the rejection. @gotyourback, can you please help with this?

    • Hey there! Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Shoot us a DM with the details and we'll get on it ASAP!

      • Thanks GYB. Sent you a PM

      • Have sent you a message too

      • Sent you a message too.

      • @gotyourback - was gift card payment disallowed in this challenge? It wasn't listed in OP's post as well. I had no idea gift card payment is an exclusion until today, when did that start??

Looks like I will be using CR for amazon purchases from now on.

        • -2

          Hey there! Great question.

Please be informed that Purchases that do not count towards this challenge are those which do not meet the store's respective terms and conditions (including but not limited to cancellations, returns, exchanges, using unapproved coupons, and purchasing excluded products/categories) will not be eligible for Cashback bonus

          • @gotyourback: Hi, my question was specifically regarding paying with gift card. This used to be eligible for cashback but I realised two days ago that gift card payment is now excluded and my question is when did this come into effect?

            • @roguej: Hey there! As long as you purchase something and pay with an Amazon Gift Card you bought through ShopBack, you'll be eligible for Cashback.

Just remember, if you use a gift card or promo code or discount from another source (not purchased or advertised on ShopBack), it won't count for Cashback.

              • +1

@gotyourback: Just clarifying - when we load gift card values onto our amazon account, does amazon know where that gift card is purchased from?

This is a very limiting clause - I'm sure everyone buys gift cards from all over the place, not just Shopback. And we can't select which gift card to use once we load the gift cards onto Amazon, which means most of the time we will be excludeded from Shopback cashback. This is just going to make people stop using Shopback to click through to Amazon going forward.

                • @roguej: @gotyourback you really need to clarify this please

are you confirming that if we purchase an amazon gift card from say bupa rewards, load it onto our amazon account, and make a purchase through shopback, the amazon cashback will now decline because the gift card wasn't purchased exclusively through shopback???

                  • -3

@Repstar: Here's the deal with Cashback on Amazon purchases through ShopBack:

Only ShopBack offers count: To earn Cashback, you gotta use Gift Cards, Vouchers, or promo codes advertised on ShopBack itself (you'll find these on the store's page within ShopBack).

Cashback isn't guaranteed: Remember, stores have the final say on Cashback eligibility for your purchase. ShopBack will update your Cashback status once they validate it with the store.

                    • @gotyourback: GYB you are just confusing people at this point

I add an Amazon gift card to my Amazon account that I purchased through bupa rewards

That credit is then used to by an item though ShopBack on Amazon

I’m eligible for cashback, YES or NO

                      Please just answer the question

                      • -4

@Repstar: Hey Mate! If the Amazon Gift Card is not purchased from ShopBack platform, I believe that you will not be eligible for Cashback

                        • +1

                          @gotyourback: That's incorrect.

I have purchased thousands through Shopback using Amazon gift cards purchased from everywhere (shopback/CR/Bupa/Bob off the street). Countless have tracked and been paid out.

Are you saying this is a new change to the T&C?

                          • @Repstar: @Repstar this is what I'm interested to know as well. I have always bought gift cards from different sources but click through shopback with no issues until this particular challenge. Apparently my cashback and bonus $3 were both rejected because I paid with gift card.

                            • +1

@roguej: It’s rubbish because then technically all ebay purchases made with gift cards not bought by ShopBack would decline as well. I just highly doubt Amazon/ebay provide information to ShopBack about exactly where the gift card is purchased.

I’m putting these comments down to an inexperienced GYB learning the ropes.

Now in regards to your cashback declining, I have NFI. I just looked and I didn’t take advantage of this $3 promo. Seems to be a few people with issues though. There is a master forum post for tracking these deals somewhere, but I can’t find it..

                            • @roguej: Anyhow I'm just gonna avoid shopback when clicking through for now and use cashrewards instead

                    • @gotyourback: Hey mate, waiting for your response in my ShopBack post. Thanks
                      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/15175119/redir

                      • @trixieb: These responses from 'gotyourback' seem like copied and pasted verbiage. They lack a lot of care in my view. I believe the original 'gotyourback' may have been one of the many that SB laid off which would be a shame.

                        • +1

@arcticmonkey: I think new GYB started in April on OzB and original GYB left around mid March. Definitely copy and paste similar to the eBay agents

                          • +1

                            @trixieb: Agreed.

The offshored inhuman copy and paste responses are dreadful.

                            • +1

@arcticmonkey: If he/she was let go, what a shame. They were so helpful.

                              • +3

@Repstar: What a clown show! Bring back the OG GYB! These responses are EXACTLY the kind of copy/pasted, templated BS responses we've come to expect from Shopback's inept customer service reps when we need to raise a claim. And this new rep obviously has NFI what they're talking about.

Let's say you load up 5 GC's @ $100 each, bought through 5 different outlets (and the first card to be loaded into your Amazon account was purchased through Shopback). You then make a purchase that comes to $120. There's no way that Amazon are going to say to Shopback "Sorry, claim denied because $20 from the purchase was used with a non-Shopback purchased GC."

All Amazon GC's are loaded into the account (and rolled into the total amount in credit) as a whole number. It's not like you can pick and choose which part of the GC credit you want to use to ensure you're using the Shopback GC when making a purchase. Can you imagine how insane that would be to try and manage? smh

My advice is to carry on as usual because this new rep is clueless.

                                • +1

                                  @KangaDrew: Agreed.

What's the point of another impersonal offshored Asian lowly paid rep?

I've so over these Asian based reps.

Executives clearly only care about their bonuses and salaries because they're clearly too far removed if they laid off the original GYB and replaced them with an offshored regurgitator.

This type of thing has deterred me from using Blys and EatClub too.
