  • Just be aware this is the corded version.

    • steam

I can't imagine trying to generate steam from a battery operated version! XD

But yeah I got one from prime day sales and am so impressed that it does do what it is supposed to lol plus it's so good there's no need to worry about crappy batteries failing.

To give you an idea, my place (2 br 1 bath) needs 1 clean water tank refill so 2 tanks total (plus emptying the dirty tank) - bigger places than mine may require more clean water tank refills and emptying of dirty water tanks. (First time I used it I used lots more tanks iirc about 5 as I did a deeeeeep clean haha and was getting used to it)

Also, it does have the self cleaning function, and it works pretty well, however if you open up the roller section you'll find lots of lint there to wipe away and also on the stand section it sits on while self cleaning. So it still requires some maintenance, but they've made it easy to do with their well thoughtout design (no need to turn it upside down to get at the roller!).

Yes, if you angle it a little too upright the steam stops, but once started the steam starts up again pretty quickly. And ive also started walking it along the floor at a slower pace than I would normally vacuum to let the steam and roller do its magic.

Can't remember what the other complaints were if any.

All in all - well recommended =)

seems like they're coming out with a cordless steam version, doesn't seem to be available locally yet and it costs a fair amount more based on american pricing. i'd want to see reviews to compare the performance.

          • @realaccount627465746: For real?! Battery operated steam? Yeah would want to see how long the battery lasts with steam on - kind of doubt for very long?!

            • +1

@Ultraman: I have a Battery operated steam one. I usually use it for daily simple cleaning (4 br 2 bath) , about 15 minutes at a time. Usually, more than 60% of the battery is left each time.
I have been using this product for probably over two years. I would probably complain more about the rollers than the battery. The battery is fully capable of supporting daily cleaning and there have been no issues so far. But the roller needs to be kept fluffy, otherwise it will leave water stains after cleaning.

              • @saori: So maybe about 30+ mins worth then it sounds like. Could probably do my place in that time I guess! But yeah, like all batteries lifetime it will likely degrade over time so in that way I'm glad I bought the corded one.

And fluffiness-wise since there's a spare roller (this set included a spare filter too) I have been swapping the just used roller out after the cleaning cycle and wipe the lint out before replacing with the dry spare roller ready for the next use and leaving the clean wet one out to dry. I haven't really noticed streaks but my floor is textured a bit, but I might fluff them up too now that you mention it XD

  • Is it good?

    • I got one a couple months back and it's been good. I would recommend one if you have heaps of tiled areas (Or hard floors in general, but check if your flooring can handle the heat). Does a good job without the use of chemicals and saves a little time not having to vacuum before mopping. One annoying thing is that it doesn't clean to the edge. Misses about 15 to 20mm of sides.

      • Their latest cordless ones featuring edge cleaning, may be should just go for the cordless steam cleaners with less steam

        • +1

Yes I saw that and interested me as well. In my case I have too much tiled areas and a battery powered one doesn't provide enough time. I have a Bissell CrossWave Max and it only lasts about 20 minutes per charge (Not a steam mop). It would take 2-3 charges to mop all my floors taking a couple of hours to recharge each time. If I had a small area I would go cordless, but for large areas stick with corded so you can do all the floors in one hit.

Seems like the self cleaning system is must for these systems to be usable. Else I would probably not go near one knowing more work cleaning the vaccuum itself after cleaning small areas.
