Cheapest Quiet Microwave?

Listening to the microwave beep and the door of it being slammed at all hours is getting annoying. If the beep could only be silenced, and the door not slap because of that plastic hook thing, then it would be 1,000 times quieter. And yes I'm looking for quite the microwave.

On our Samsung you can mute the sound and if you hold the open button while closing the door it is near silent.

    It is quite the microwave.

hold the open button while closing the door

A lot of modern microwaves I’ve seen function that way, but idiots that constantly slam things will never be able to make it work…

        Definitely some idiots living here.

        • Best thing is to speak to your family members and let them know your concerns.

          • @elgrande: Nah they are some randoms from another country. A couple. Best not to provoke them, they know it wakes me up and they don't care. The cost of a microwave to avoid drama is worth it.

            • @AustriaBargain: What country?

              • @iguana: I don't want to help spread stereotypes. They may not be a representative sample of their people.

              • @iguana: My guess would be an island nation in South East Asia that recently had economic issues followed by protests and political unrest.

                • @JIMB0: My guess would be Tasmanians, attempting to show the mainland who's boss.

    • It is quite quiet the microwave.

      FTFY

      • I'm confused.

          quiet

I was trying to make a corny joke, but it never popped - butt, er, I'll try harder next time

Breville has one with a soft close door and you can turn the sounds off. Not cheap though at around $400

No no no, Breville will be a thousand time more noisy when it's running, my last Breville sounded like an aeroplane flying over our roof. The japanese may be noisy with beep and slap but they're dead quiet when running, even a 40 year old granma Pana will be tens time quieter than the latest Breville one.
