Dairy fascist behind the piano pulls out a six shooter and says, that ain't no real milk son….

Its the plant based milky bar kid.

          "Oat Milk for everyone"

  • Damn no rice milk. Love dat rice

    • So do I, but lots of sugar FYI

      • -2

Unsweetened rice milk has about the same sugar as dairy milk

        • +1

Vitasoy unsweetened rice milk has 20 g carbohydrates per 250 ml, and 14.5 g sugar per 250 ml.
Milk varies on who you ask, but varies between 7.5 g to 12 g for sugar.

          • -1

@abacus: I just checked, it's 23.8g carbs, 14.5g sugar and no added sugar. Fat 3g (sat fat 0.3g)

There would be more sugar in the cereal you are putting it on, but yeah just get the unsweetened one (rice milk is sweet by nature)

            Woolworths Full cream milk

12g carbs, (containing 12g sugar, which would be added), fat 8.5g (saturated fat 5.5g)

You should worry about fat not carbs, the fat you eat is the fat you wear. Best to keep saturated fats to an absolute minimum, bad for the arteries and heart disease.

Anyway I usually prefer almond and oat milk for smoothies/general use and soy milk for frothing for coffee (and oat if i don't have soy).

            • @G-rig: 12g of sugar in the Woolworths full cream milk isn’t added cane sugar it’s the natural lactose (galactose/glucose) sugar that’s normally present in milk.

              • @harug: Hmm that's probably worse. Won't start up a whole debate on all the other nasties in cows milk, and the disgusting industry itself

          • @abacus: Their website showed about 6g for 100mL when I checked before writing that

          • @abacus: Their website says 12.5g per 250mL. Comparable to dairy milk

            • @Wolfenstein98k: No it's not lol

              • @G-rig: The topic is sugar/carb content. Very comparable to dairy milk

(Considering you thought sugar was added to dairy milk, which has never been done in this country or anywhere else of significance, I am not sure you are familiar with the content of dairy milk)

                • @Wolfenstein98k: Fk all mate, you're not getting fat from milk
Up to you if you want to drink that shit.. Blood, puss hormones. Cows eat grass, think about it.

                  • @G-rig: And mushrooms grow on trees and in dirt, but I eat them too.

You get fat from calories, not from the vehicle of the calories.

Try it - eat a consistent net calorie surplus from vegetables alone. You'll still get fat.

                    • @Wolfenstein98k: You didn't factor in fibre.
Also you will stop eating when you have so many vegetables, they are less calorie dense.
                      Clearly know nothing.

                      • @G-rig: How is fibre related to caloric balance?

I'm not saying you wouldn't shit yourself, I'm saying you'd gain weight. It's a thought experiment about calories alone.

                        • @Wolfenstein98k: Yeah the theory is you'd get sick of eating the quantity of veg it would take to match higher density foods.

Fibre is important - so basically saying not all calories are the same.

TY OP for the strangest selection of items possible.

    • +1

      try playing Dixit :)

      • Well that looks like a real relationship breaker.

  • +1

Has anyone ordered the oat milk yet?
If so, any indicated BB date on the order details?

    Thanks.

    • +5

I can't give you an exact date as they never provide this on orders, but the last batch that I had delivered on the 6th of March has a best before date of 27/11/2024. I would assume the best before date would be similar on these.

    • +1

best-before/use-by dates generally only appear for Amazon Warehouse goods, being shorter than the otherwise usual/normal 6-9 months

    • +1

      i'll let you know tomorrow

    • One of the reason I am holding out is that the BB date is not great, probably end of 2024. FYI, The packaging have already changed if you check Coles and Woolies carrying 2025 stock.

    • I'd be keen to know as well, 12 is a large quantity of those (for me). would want to be 6-8 months at least.
Maybe the soy milk is most versatile, bonsoy isn't always on special and this may be good enough.

looks like that $3 shopback bonus has ended.

    • +1

All of mine are BB April 2025.

  • Is $30+ spend with S&S excluded from Shopback's $3 bonus?

  • Is the oatmilk as good as the oatmilk from aldi?

    • I like it, but it can't compare with the ALDI brand. I'll get some from there next time though to try, cheers

    • Not as good, but close enough.

    • +1

The aldi barista version has a great taste, but like most other barista versions, they use canola oil (extracted using hexane solvent).

      • +1

So? Is that supposed to be bad?

    • What's better, Oatly barista edition or aldi?

      • Just check the ingredients on both next time you there. If it's anything like their cheap soy milk then it's better to spend more (as the ingredients were a bit nasty).

  • Vitasoy Soy Milky hasn't been $1.45 in yonks.

    • I am not sure but it feels like Oat milk would be cheaper to make…but that's just gut feel. (pun intended for the lactose intolerants out there)

      • Both fortified similar to almond milk. Soy has more protein but also more fat.

Hard to choose one for every purpose.

        Oat Milky variety seems decent.

  • Is it really 1-2 months dispatch?

    • Mine will arrive today and tomorrow.

  • +1

    Think they removed S&S

    • Oat still there by the look of it.

  • Damn that's a good deal, but I have like 84 oat milkies from the recent deal and won't need these for months…

    • +1

Are you buying these to bathe in??? If you did the soy though, you'd probably have really amazing skin though!

      • +2

I go through like 1 a day for coffee and just drinking them while waiting for coffee to boil.

  • Aren't they like $1.35 sometimes or have those days ended?

  • I might get some while waiting for Bonsoy to go on sale.

  • there's no S&S on the almond milk anymore :(

  • Is that charger good for newer Samsung galaxies… ie super fast charging?

      • FAST CHARGING TECHNOLOGY: 30W PD per port supports Apple fast charge and Samsung super-fast charging for your device, charging from 0-50% in as little as 24 minutes. Its Programmable Power Supply (PPS) technology dynamically adjusts the output voltage.
  • Approved.

  • The oat milky isn't an option

  • i wish my car could run on this, cheaper than petrol

  • +1

fyi Soy Milky Regular back in stock

    • Cheers ordered. It works out quite a bit cheaper than Bonsoy so worth a go. It gets pretty good reviews and probably good enough.
Bit more fat than Oat & Almond but more protein as well and better for frothing for coffee.

  • Looks like the prices have all been jacked up.

  • -1

Eww oat milk. I’ll take the crab juice.
