Looking to Buy a Lower End Tablet on Ali Express

I am looking to buy a lower end tablet on ali express but there are so many and a lot of them seem like scams, can anyone direct me to some legit/good low end Tablets on offer? Mainly looking to buy on aliexpress unless there's a better offer/deal else where. Cheers!

Looked through this tag https://www.ozbargain.com.au/tag/tablet and had a look at some previous deals?

Anything stand out? Budget? know what you're after?

Also some lower end Lenovo devices are great value. They may be worth a look.

    • Yeah to be honest I was thinking of getting a 4/64 tablet as it will only be used for watching videos and web browsing for my mother.

  • Ozbargain royalty, user clear posts good tablet deals pretty frequently.
You might consider a DM to them to ask if they have a suggestion.

Just don't be like certain people who get shitty with my suggestions and then demand I find them something that fits their exact specs. Ain't nobody got time fo' dat.

Then again I'm fairly guilty of not seeing PMs.

Budget? What will your mum be using it for?

    • +1

was looking to spend $200-300 max.

    • yeah I was hoping for something slightly cheaper, say with specs like 4/64 as the tablet would purely be used by my mum to watch videos and web browse at work.

      • there was a cheaper m11 with no lte, 4gb ram no pen for $169 + 10 delivery the other day with afterpay ebay code.
m10s sometimes pop up for sub 150
if your mum (or even yourself) isnt familar with stuffing around with roms and just want an 'out of the box ready' experience you might be best off with an au local stock sourced option .

        • yeah this would of been perfect for her, thanks for the heads up, i will be looking around for it.

Whichever you get I would suggest at least a 1080p screen. The 720 screens on the really cheap ones are unpleasant to use for any length of time.

Also the cheaper ones tend to have pretty average brightness/contrast so they suck for use outside or in brightly lit areas.

    • Yeah I was intending to get at least a 1080p screen. I am seeing a lot of "12/512gb 16/1tb "tablets" for $100-130us on aliexpress, are these fake or something? The specs are clearly too good to be true.

      • The screen will be absolute dog shite and it'll probably be slow as hell.

  • Buy a Telstra Orbic from Coles. It is still crap, but much easier to return.

I just got the Samsung Galaxy Tab A. $300 approx. Decent machine.

  • Looking to potentially buy this Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad 2024 6GB/128GB $179.67 with coupon it comes to $164.16, seems pretty good.

There's no official Global ROM so try to find a CN version. Otherwise you'll have to reflash.

Unofficial global ROM means no updates, no Netflix HD and an unlocked bootloader that prevents many apps like banking from functioning. Plus an unlocked bootloader is a security issue.

Why not spend just a touch more and get something locally in case of warranty issues?

I really like the 8in alldocube iPlay mini 50 pro, I got the biggest bundle for around $190-200 with the keyboard and case. Has sim, expandable, fast charges (but doesn't show accurate charge time). Haven't had performance issues but my daughter just uses YouTube kids on it.

Blackview tab 11 I got for $150, same as above except screen size but big con is that it doesn't fast charge and only takes a usb A to C, takes about 3 hours for a full charge. I have to keep swapping cables when I need to charge it so that's annoying
