[PC, Steam] EA Sports WRC $23.98 [60% off] @ Steam

120

Only just noticed this by chance, but thought I should post as there is still a full day left and the price is heavily reduced, Lowest price ever according to Steam DB.

Lot's of Content, including 18 Locations and 78 Vehicles and a career mode too. According to most sources handling has improved on both gravel and tarmac since Dirt Rally 2.0.

Launch saw quite a few performance issues affecting gameplay, but it has received patches to address these issues and many users report significant improvements and much smoother gameplay as of patch 1.5.1

  • Get wrc generations instead. Miles better. EA ruined another franchise.

That's not the impression I've been getting from a lot of reviews, it really seems like a decent game. Why do you say it's been ruined?

Haven't played Generations, but it doesn't seem like it offers more in terms of content, especially if you prefer the older rally cars like myself, EA WRC has so many classic vehicles by comparison and the sound effects of each one are top quality.

I have played Dirt Rally 2.0 and was very impressed by the handling, definitely a step up from DR 1, and EA WRC is supposed to be a step up again.

EA Sports WRC has a thriving online community playing user generated clubs. It's the same kind of thing as Dirt Rally 2.0 clubs and most of the Dirt Rally 2.0 community has moved over.
It's getting continual support and development from Codemasters so it gets better as they continue to work on the game.

        • @RaindancerAU That is really good news, thanks for thisπŸ‘ Yes it does seem like they are supporting it and listening to feedback, I hope this game will be built upon and become something great in the racing sim community πŸ˜€

    Absolutely cracking game for $24.
Stages are much nicer than other rally games. It also drives way better than something like Dirt Rally 2.0.

Does it have triple screen support yet?

Yep, purchased for me, and gifted one to someone else. I love racing sims. I also have great memories at Amusement Centres (aka Muso's) and love your avatar.

That's really cool, I'm glad to hear this, thanks for letting me know!

Yes! Racing games are some of the most fun of all games, something very hypnotic about them imoπŸ˜… Oh yeah, I remember playing Sega Rally in TimeZone many years ago and being blown away, so many great arcade racers back then, and thankfully many good arcade racers made since then too, especially for console and PC. Outrun 2006 is a masterpiece! πŸ‘Œ

Ah, thanks! :) Wonderboy is one of my all time favourite's, still play it to this day, very tough game! πŸ˜…

      • Just had a few hours of Bubble Bobble.

        • @SheepWhisperer

Nice πŸ‘, I love Bubble Bobble, used to play it on Amiga 500, still trying to 1cc on Mame. This is a video I uploaded years ago of one of my attempts, can get a lot further (even to the last boss) with save states, but still not able to do true 1cc, same with Wonderboy, but I have found some excellent online guides that have helped me get a lot closer.
