  • Is this worth it? From what I understand the TCL C845 is better specced and better value than this even at this price point (At any time the C845 is on sale)

    Waiting for the 85!

Was looking to get the 85" in the QN90 series but I just can't find much difference btw the 85 and 90 or even the 95 series.

If the price for 85" in the QN85C came down below $3000 given the above price for 75", I would jump in. It did come down to under 2700$ once

Paying 2000$ more for QN90 or QN95 for minor improvements doesn't seem right.

Is there any reason why people prefer the latest inspite of the steep price difference?

PS : I would be happy with the 75" but family seems to think 85" or above would make us future proof. We have had our 50" Panasonic plasma that is still going strong after 15 yrs, should easily squeeze few more week/months or years given our luck with it.

Was considering the 8K ones seriously as future proofing insurance and happy to pay the increased price but was told the power consumption is higher with 8K's

I have used both and it really depends on the use case and wallet.

The QN85C, to my eyes, has blacks that are better than most mid range TVs but not the top Neo-QLED nor OLED models. They have a slight faint greyness to it and this could be tied to overall contrast as well. It is not bad or anything, just not as crazy good as the top tier models.

I have a relative who has the QN85C 75in version and the glossy screen paired with underlying brightness and processing just looks that .05% not as good as the QN90B or QN90C. This one is purely nitpicking and I think the majority of people would not notice or tell the difference. I think it is one of the best mid ranges along with the more expensive Sony X90L series. More on personal preference, I prefer the punchy colours and brightness of the Samsung series over the better processed, realistic but more semi gloss look the Sony X series has.

Some would say the QN90C is overpriced at ~$600 more for what many would say are very marginal improvements but I think if you can afford it and it matters to you then go for it, especially if you enjoy watching content at home compared to more casual viewers. My partner, coming from the QN90B, spent extra for it over the QN85C for those reasons.
