What happens when you try to check the balance at the phone number listed on the back of the gift card?
It says to ask on Australia's number 1 bargain website.

The likely answer is that OP’s gift card has been blocked, and if true, OP needs to call the gift card operator (InComm, whose support number is on the back of the gift card) to resolve that.
The reason I suggested trying to check the balance over the phone is that if OP uses the automated balance check service and the response is “there is an issue with your gift card”, it indicates InComm has probably blocked the gift card.
