Budget Accommodation in Sydney for a Visitor - 1 Month Plus

Hi all, any ideas where to look for a long stay hotels / accommodation for a budget maybe $100/day or so?

In terms of location my friend is flexible and could stay in any safe suburb within 20 mins distance to Sydney CBD area.

    Try doing bookings, looking at ibis budget in advance. Otherwise some hotels.

    $100 a day with all utilities, cleaning and the other perks of a hotel would probably be cheaper than renting anywhere that close to the CBD.

    airbnb isn't what it used to be but can look there for share rooms and/or negotiate a discount for long stay

    Your likely best bet is looking for a furnished room in a share house for a short rental on flatmates.com.au or on the various facebook groups. $100 a day is less than rent for a 1 bedroom apartment within 20 mins of the CBD.

    My guess would be you're looking at around $400 week for a room and $500 a week with a private bathroom.

    20 mins to Sydney city is still quite close to the CBD. Sydney suburbs stretch over 60km out, so you will get a better price for a stay if you look further out. Public transport is the best in Australia so it wont be too bad if you choose the right areas.

        you can get an express train from as far out as Parramatta/Revesby which gets you to the city in under 30min

        I live on the metro line. Driverless trains every 4 minutes. Seems great to me.

    Don't know what the rate are like, but the YHA near the Rocks area might be worth checking out.
