Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2022 (11.2" 2.5K OLED, 8GB/128GB, Widevine L1) US$191.99 (~A$295.28) Shipped @ 70mai-Goldway AliExpress

Back on sale is the popular Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2022 and this time it's better Qualcomm Snapdragon variant. The main differences are that this uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 CPU instead of the MediaTek Kompanio 1300T (performance on par), 8GB RAM instead of 6GB and 68W PD fast charging of 30W.

The other big difference is that this is running Lenovo's skinned version of Android called ZUI that's argueably better than the Lenovo's stock Android found on global release tablets. There's no official Global ROM available for this tablet, however the CN ROM has English, OTA updates and Widevine L1 for Netflix HD. Once received you must activate Google Play Services in Settings and install Google Play from the Lenovo app store.

Features include Android 13 (ZUI 15, Android 14 this year), 11.2" 2560x1536 OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 600nits brightness, HDR10+ & Dolby Vision, 8GB RAM, 128GB UFS 3.1 Storage (microSD support), 8200mAh battery with 68W fast charging, USB-C with Video Out, 4 JBL Speakers with Dolby Atmos, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS and POGO pins for charging/keyboard.

  • This vs the p11?

    • no, that's the MediaTek variant

      • So I assume it works straight out of box, no need to flash? Safe to use banking apps etc?

        • -1

Most likely bootloader unlocked, just buy local stock like Samsung from JB for peace of mind.

  • Y700 deal too please 🙏🙏🙏

    • Had a bit of a look and everything seems pricey.

    • Picked that one up the last deal… $432.84 delivered. Used the coupon and coins.

Hopefully delivered this week. Gonna make it my emulation machine.

      • Nice! bought the xiaoxin 2023 pro for Moonlight streaming but way too big, y700 seems to be the perfect size for a USB-c controller (gamesir x2 pro or Galileo)

        • +2

Yeah I picked this up for $37 as well.

          https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006354130049.html

Not sure of the quality or support but I got it because it can stretch out 250mm so can accommodate a tablet.

          • +2

@jlogic: Been using mine for 2 months. Quality is fantastic for the price. Got mine for around $29 though as it keeps popping up on my homepage undder Super deals and 'Quality picks for you'.

            • @SeanConnery: Hey, would you be able to tell me the maximum thickness that would fit in this? (They always list maximum width, but never thickness - ie. whether it will work with thick cases)

I have a thick phone case (over 14mm!), so always on the lookout for one that will accommodate it without taking the case off!

              • +1

@caprimulgus: Just measured it. Exactly 15mm. My Vivo X100 Pro with case measures in at 16mm and it fits in the case, no issues.

          • @jlogic: I'm waiting for the d8 pro, unless this goes at a deep discount.

    • Look here https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005916415981.html?spm=a2…

Use the code provided here and comes to $239ish us

      • Thanks, $30 USD off works as well! went down to US $234.95. Not sure if I should buy or wait for a 2023 deal

        • No worries, ask @Clear

is the one I found be a good deal?

Also what is the code for $30 off?

          • @fozzie: Yes, it's ATL. 04CD30 last one was $391, this is around ~$362

          • @fozzie: You'd want the original CN ROM. Yours with the fake global ROM has an unlocked bootloader, no OTA updates or Netflix HD. Ideally you want the 2023 version as that's getting a global release later this year meaning it can be reflashed with the proper global ROM when that comes out.

            • @Clear: Yup official global rom is great, although 2022 can be reflashed with CN stock rom so atleast that's an option

God damn 1440p OLED 120Hz. I'd jump on this asap if I didn't have a Tab S9 already. Insane deal.

Edit: Supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Even better than my Tab S9 which doesn't do DV.

      • -5

        CCP style DV.

    • Buying one just to use with a D9 controller and steamlink. Already have an S8 ultra but that's too big to clamp

  • awesome find!.. coupon wouldnt apply.. so i paid like $338… but still seams like a good deal.. paying half price you reckon compared to normal price? yea i couldnt wait to figure out why the coupon wasnt working.. had to buy or forever regret missing out on this..haha

    • +5

Not sure if same problem you encountered but for me if you paste the coupon I find it doesn't let you click apply, just delete the last number and type it in.

  • +1

Thanks for finding this Clear!!! my moms going to love this for watching stuff around the house ^^D

  • is the 2023 version worth it over this?

    • If you're after a larger screen at 12.7" and don't mind losing OLED for IPS it's good. Otherwise it's pretty much the same in performance.

  • Just a heads up that Android updates aren't Lenovo's weak point. Refer to this for more. It also looks like you can't install LineageOS on them (refer to this)

    • +1

You've linked a review for a different tablet. The MediaTek variant has quite a few differences to this.

It's also important to note that Lenovo China who develop ZUI are not the same team as Lenovo who develop Android for the global markets. In this case the Lenovo Tab P11 Pro Gen 2 (Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2022 6GB/128GB MediaTek).

On the topic of custom ROM support there are active projects including Xiaomi's HyperOS for all Xiaoxin tablets and Evolution X.

      • Thanks. But from what I understand, all Lenovo tablets have update issues. Or are you saying that this model will get updates regularly like other tablets?

        • +2

Your link makes no mention of update issues for this tablet. I've received many OTA updates on my MediaTek variant without issue.

  • Link does not work

    • +1

Turn off your VPN or whatever you have masking your location.

  • why does it say "For security reasons, your request cannot be processed." whenever i try enter coupon and it fails

    • Do you have multiple accounts? Or if you're on a phone and have a "dodgy" app like an auto clicker installed?

      • nope.. maybe because i have aliexpress open in about 20 tabs ><P… never had this issue until now first time been using app and on pc for few weeks now

  • +1

Anyone recommend a good keyboard case for this, I saw one linked in a previous post (the oem one) but the 2022 screen size are out of stock

    • i was just about to ask the same thing

    • +2

I use this one and my only complaint is no backlit keys. Though someone else received one without the cut out for the pen and it died after a couple of weeks. Mine has the cutout and has been working for months so it seems they received the wrong one.

Searching around there are backlit versions.

      • Any idea why the OG Lenovo keyboard is not available anywhere? Sifting through all this nobrand fake crap on AE is annoying, esp since I'm not even sure half fit properly since there's always comments here and there that they had issues.

Found it here on giztop but not sure if worth paying that much. Don't know if they charge shipping too since I didn't sign up.

        • +1

It's no longer manufactured. The price at Giztop is on par with the prices I've seen on Ali when it has been instock. Often a lot of sellers had it for US$100+

          • @Clear: Ah, I see. You reckon there's any point paying 3x vs. the aftermarket ones, or probs won't be a noticeable difference?

            • @madgasser: The official one will connect to the tablet via the pogo pins while unofficial will likely be Bluetooth. Meaning after along time it'll have to be recharged.

  • This model is original china Version with original china rom, only support Chinese and English ,Google play and OTA update.

Is this expected? didn't read deal properly

  • Does anyone know what pen/stylus to use for this? I thought it would've been the precision pen 2, but apparently not.

    • +1

      Precision Pen 3.

    • +1

I bought one on eBay for $140

  • +2

Looks like it sold out as I was checking out… annoying. I had this in my cart last night but was waiting for this discount code. Grrrr.

    • Still available if you pay a tiny bit extra with a case.

      • Or just wait for this deal to inevitably roll around in a few weeks…

So annoying. I got stuck at checkout cause my saved card had expired.

        • -2

Oh no, that extra $7 to order it now must really hurt.

          • @Jugganautx: Won't let me apply the coupon anymore, so it's coming out as US$220… that's an extra $43.

So yeah, no deal. I'll wait for it to come around again.

      • It won't let me apply the coupon again. Must think I've already applied it to the failed purchase. Oh well, no bargain now. Will wait for the next deal.

    • Yep had the same issue.
Now it's 387.17 and the discount doesn't work.

  • Do you know the body dimensions of the device? Is it under 250mm in length?

  • Damn missed it!

  • The build quality is okay but I really don't like ZUI.

  • So in Australia, am I gonna have limitations with this version?

      • +4

I can't be online 24/7 to answer every question so don't go around lying to people.

There are no issues using this in Australia. It's an Android tablet and functions the same like any other.

    • -8

Just buy local stock Samsung from JB for peace of mind. you pay more but you get the best support.

  • 312.20 with flipcase little bit cheaper with silicon

  • Did anyone actually get it for this price? I mentioned this in the aliexpress thread, but they legit changed it to add the extra $ you saved at checkout. Initially they didn't let you use the coupon but once they did the just bumpee up the price to account for it.

I was trying to get it and prob could've if I didn't mess up choosing the wrong card as it seemed to work for a few minutes but it didn't last long since it was already up by the time I tried checking out again.

    • I paid $310 with silicon case (because I forgot to set currency to USD otherwise would be much lower).

    • Just bought one with the cover for $303 converted from usd

  • I actually got this a few days ago for $330 from same store, following the expired link from the mediatek deal so it's nice to see this is getting some upvotes.

    • Hi mate, can you tell me how long it took to deliver and where you are?

      • +1

Sorry, meant I ordered it a couple of days ago, March 30th. Supposedly getting it April 13th or April 14th which is weird cause that's Sat/Sun. Hopefully I get it sooner…

  • +2

Bought for $317.55 with silicon case and just using straight AUD. Code gave $30 off. A great screen and battery at this size exactly what I'm looking for thanks!

  • Great price for a great tablet; got it a year ago from Giztop for ~$600 and zero regrets. Stock Chinese ROM and no issues with Google Play store/apps etc and been getting updates from Lenovo.

  • +1

Is a case needed? Does the material scratch easily?

  • I wonder why it says out of stock though?, is it referring to the standard discount version?

    • Because it was actually out of stock. Obviously no longer the case.

  • I ordered on Tuesday and they still haven't shipped it. In the order page it says 'ships in 10 days'. Is that normal?

    • +1

I ordered Tuesday evening and it was shown as shipped by the morning.

      • Thanks - I messaged the store after seeing your comment and the status changed to 'shipped' within hours.

  • Hmmm I got a notification on delivery update from aliexpress that my tablet is not cleared at Customs

    • +1

That's good! It means it will be delivered shortly. Pretty much all orders to Australia from AliExpress get this.

  • +1

    Hmmm… My shipping info says:

    Returning. Unable to ship out.

Guess I need to process a refund?

    • Damn unlucky. It will usually auto-refund but you can raise an AliExpress dispute for it to be processed faster.

    • Same problem on my end, I'm trying to ask the seller if they will resend the item

  • Somehow, my order ended up working and I got mine today. Looks and feels great, but even though you select English, a lot of the apps, options, user agreements are still in Chinese. Very confusing. Does anyone know if this can be changed?

    • Got mine today as well. I installed google play but cant login. Deleted as many apps as I could however there is still a lot of chinese baked in.

      • You have to enable google services from the 3 dots in app management settings and then google play will work.

    • That was fast. When did you order and where are you?

      • +1

Ordered on 1st after I saw this post. Sydney metro

      • Perth metro.

  • Ordered mine on the 2nd and just arrived today.

  • +1

How do you get play store to work? Sign in button doesn't do anything….

Edit: did some googling and you need to enable google play services by going to settings - -> apps - - > 3 dots (top right) - - > Google basic services

  • What's everyone android version running out the box?

  • Anyone elses taking ages to charge for first power up?

    • Seems like it's DOA after trying to charge overnight to see if it would power on :(

  • Installed Netflix via Google Play Store and it shows Widevine L1 in the app, but it doesn't list Dolby Vision and HDR as being supported/available?

    • Got this issue too. Did you manage to fix it?

  • This has been the most frustrating device I've ever bought. The "English" version is very not English… and installing google play has been near on impossible. Not sure how the rest of you are going with this purchase?
