I trust the good people of OzB will tell me why I need this seemingly expensive umbrella.

    • Same. Is it 5-6x better than a $12 bunnings umbrella?

      • +6

yes imagine carrying 5x Bunnings umbrellas compare with just one of this Blunt. easier on arm

similar question as $2.5k iphone Is it 5-6x better than a $450 xiaomi phone?

Take it out on a extremely windy day. See if the Bunnings umbrella survives.

For me it’s longevity of the product. It’s the same as other umbrellas in what it does but it lasts a lot longer. I’ve personally had 10+ cheap umbrellas break from strong gusts of wind. This has never happened since I’ve been using a blunt umbrella

Does it come with Netflix ?

    • It survives wind, which is pretty common when it's rainy. I've had mine for 10 years now, and never had any other last more than about 2.

Note that the blunt is much longer than most compact umbrellas (it's still about 40cm long when folded up, and doesn't fit in a lot of bags), as it only has 2 joints instead of the usual three, but that's part of why it's so much stronger.

    • You know the whole "poor man pays twice" saying? - this umbrella is a really good example of only paying once.

  • we are in reccession these normally sell at this price

I've been using a $5 for the last 10years and still gpong strong. Unsure why someone woukd pay more, does it have extra accessories to make it worth more

Someone compares phones to umbrellas, that's laughable as their is a difference in phones but umbrellas do not.

I find this hard to believe. What brand is it and where did you buy it? How frequently have you used it?

There is a difference with these umbrellas. Blunt are a lot more sturdy in windy conditions.

      • Can't remember now, think it was from a chemist or supermarket. It is unbranded.

There is no arguing that Blunt will be more sturdy but i have been to mount Wellington and etc and it has surved me well in windy conditions.

I don't use it often, just in rainy weather

  • I'd like dacing in the rain…

    • Singing or dancing?

  • Stocked up on $5 umbrellas at the start of winter last year and the first one I used is still going strong.

I'm not seeing these prices - the black and blue metro are $90.30, yellow metro$139, the navy classic is $104.30 and the black and yellow classic are $149?

    • +1

Yes, prices are normal. Not seeing anything under $100 now.

  • I don't want a tent,I want an umbrella…
