1.5 years ago at JB my wife and i got flip 3s half price minus gumtree iphone 8 trade ins = $400 each total. Great phone until it split across the fold and samsung repairer said "sorry we dont cover screen damage". Escalated tbe complaint and got it fixed free but had to buy a backup phone in the meantime. 4th time in 5 years samsung repairer has unsuccessfully tried to refuse warranry due to some unrelated small issue, i wont by samsung again.
Forgetting the whole phone OS war politics, Apple’s service has been excellent for me.
The one time I needed to use support, I bought a new accessory from Apple (splurged on an overpriced MagSafe charger + stand) and they sent an obvious used/demo. I took some pictures, called them up and hoped for a discount, and the refunded the entire amount while letting me keep it.
When you have a $160B just sitting in the bank, I guess you can spare a little.

The trade-in isn't $400 … we just tried. It is "up to $400" trade in
The actual trade-in value is whatever your trade-in device is valued at by JB PLUS you get a "$400 off" JB coupon to redeem on a new Flip 5 (which itself is $400 off RRP) - it's very clearly stated in the T&Cs and as per the deal description. So $1649RRP - $400 discount - $400 coupon - your actual trade-in item's value.
The deal heading says "$1249 + $400 Trade-In Bonus" … it doesn't say "up to $400 of value subject to what your trade-in is worth".
The deal posted doesn't reference "up to" in anyway.

Again, it doesn't say "up to" in anyway. How can someone save "a total of $800". To save $800 they have to have a list of very specific phones. Meaning the deal posted should be saying "save up to $800.
