Yeah was just about to say the same before the usual haters come on and go 'haha wow its dropped so much in just a few months.' Different model fellas.
That said, differences between Galaxy Watch Ultra and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 are pretty minimal. I wouldn't spend $500+ on the older model still personally but each to their own
Noh
Friend just got a nothing watch pro 3.
After 'The Quantified Scientist' tested it and found it well above average (in general), and for sub $150AUD!
Purely an FYI for anyone who dismissed the brand for the horrid performance of the watch pro 2.
The Quantified Scientist
Whos that.
Link?
Battery life is good? Not even close to a similar watch
Don't think it runs android, so no 3rd party app support or nfc payments
This is the global model so from what I have read there might be some health tracking features that might be disabled
Model number shown on Amazon is SM-L705FDAAXSA. It matches the same watch advertised on Samsung Aus website, so the watch on Amazon should be an Australian model. Also, the same model number is shown on Officeworks website so price match should be possible as well. I have been using this watch for over a year and very happy with it.
Interesting. This is different to the ones being sold on eBay then for a similar price.
I purchased this exact one from Amazon two days ago, it was delivered yesterday and it does have the ECG and Blood Pressure functions (although you need to pair it with a Samsung phone to get the app).
I bought the same watch from a different Amazon seller about a month ago and had to return it when I couldnt get the ECG and BP working, Samsung support said they couldnt help either, turned out it was an import from Saudi Arabia that don't have these features.
There isn't a better (Android) smartwatch at this pricepoint. Especially if you can get Officeworks to pricebeat.
also better battery.
Can’t price match with Officeworks with Amazon Prime (paid memberships are excluded for price matching) on their website with their terms and conditions and also they don’t allow applying discount codes for price matching either!
Eh, it's alright, but after trying one for a month I switched to a Oneplus Watch 3.
The Ultra is pretty big and heavy, and the battery barely lasted 48hrs, even with AOD off and minimal exercise/gps. Maybe 2.5 days, about the same as I was getting from a Watch8 Classic. The OPW3 has way better battery life (~4 days with everything on), without feeling like huge chonk, despite the similar size. And it's cheaper than the Samsung.
Only downside is no LTE
Bad deal
The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase.
i bought a second hand AU model from eBay last month, around 100 bucks cheapers than this promotion price, white one, manufacturing date is last Nov, the battery used only 25% after whole day use. so, generally the battery shall last around 2-3 days no issue. BTW, the health functions are not accessible when overseas. Bought the AU model just coz of the extra health related functions. Pretty solid design and build quality, but VERY big…comparing to apple watch, and even my old Watch 5 Pro. but again, looks good on the arm after you get used to it.
BTW, the health functions are not accessible when overseas
That's an odd restriction for Samsung to put in the watch if it's specifically an Australian model.
Can get jb to price match. I asked them to match against the 2025 version as they only had that on website. Said they couldn't, but could do 2024 for 523
Likely as it is $529 on the Westpac JB Hi-Fi commercial page, so 'ask for a deal' is possible.
Can this watch work by itself with a esim seperate number to the mobile?
You can, you need to enable the test eSim QR function in the wearables app on your phone before adding your sim… I'm using Woolworths Mobile on my phone, but Amaysim prepaid eSim on my watch.
Older model fyi
