Some nuts for when it starts to get cold.

    Hope they don't shrink.

    • Unlike your brain , no .

  • Where are the dry roasted for $10?

    • Problem with copy/paste

    • For a moment I thought Coles and WW agree on the price of the roasted chicken.

  • love it when you guys post these

Is it just me or has the quality of these gone downhill hard? I bought a pack last deal and they taste dry stale and not much salt

    • Not just you. I threw out 1.5 bags recently - super stale and have been very low salt for some time.

      • Woolies has a taste guarantee so return instore for your money back/replacement

        • Interesting. Can you post a link?
They have a "Fresh or Free Guarantee" on some marked products but I've never come across the taste one.

          • @Igaf: It's the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee on the back of the packaging.
If you're not 100% happy with your purchase, we'll replace or refund.

            • @mmd: Thanks. The only the only time I can think of that I'd have used it was the cashews, but worth knowing about.

        • I always wonder how these 'satisfaction guarantee' works. Do you just return it and say 'I was not satisfied with the product' then no questions asked? Sometimes it really makes you sound like a Karen in front of that store person.

That’s what happens when you buy nuts grown who knows where and has been in storage for who knows how long before making it to Australia.

      • +1

Are they made in Australia if they sprinkle salt on them?

    • +4

From which seller? Never had a bad pack from Coles. Consistently decent for the price.

Ww quality on the other hand has imo dived badly, so badly I won't buy them again.

Aldi went through a bad batch a couple of years ago so I stopped buying from them also. Tried them again recently and they were back to normal (quite good).

      • +1

Yes thx. The bad ones i refer to at the woolies ones, same as this deal. Wont be buying again at any price.

    • +1

The last batch I bought two weeks ago for this price were fine.

Anything grown is liable to variation, old and stale is another thing.

  • Shame they’re not Australian grown.

    • Unfortunately very few cashews grown in Aus - a simple fact.

That said, I much prefer the cashews from Costco compared to any of the local supermarkets - they're okay for cooking though.

Ironically Amazon has become my go to for buying Australian nuts. Eg. https://amzn.asia/d/3WMTkSo

Product of Vietnam, packed in Australia

          • -1

@samuelhat: That's just reality. Australia grows very cashews.

          • +2

@samuelhat: My bad. In general but, Amazon has more Australian grown nuts than ColesWorth.

          • +1

@samuelhat: Surprised it doesn't say made in Australia, repackaging and sorinkling with salt + huge mark up is the aussie way

  • +2

Prefer the Aldi ones - much saltier. Probably why my doc has told me to cut down on salt.

When it gets cold my nuts disappear for weeks, if not months. I suspect a squirrel steals 'em. Dunno why he/she returns them when it gets warmer…

    So where's the bargain?

    • Normal price $18.

  • +3

It is always $10 at Aldi.

  • good price

  • +1

IMHO the Coles cashews are superior to Aldi and Woolies.

  • +1

The Coles ones have more salt and taste fresher but over half of the cashews in the packet are regularly broken pieces (halves or quarters). By the time you get through most of the packet about a quarter of the leftovers are just stumps covered in salt.

The Woolies ones have a better ratio of intact whole cashews but have very little salt on them and are almost tasteless to the point of being stale.

    • I agree completely. I'm happy with the compromise.

  • My husband love it!

  • lowest price i've seen in Woolies is $9 few months ago

  • Brodened in Belconnen. Might need to wait a day for restocking.

    • Hello neighbour. I spotted the deal at belconnen too

      • Gday Rwc. Mall (bought the last 2) and Jamison both had none left this morning.

        • +1

Must be popular. I will try some smaller local stores to get some

          • @Royale with cheese: They should restock over the week but some stores are better managed than others.

  • Is this deal still in stores? Links show different price.

  • $10 to nut 25 servings … Bargain!!!
