lol do you even follow record collecting, cos it certainly seems like you don't with this comment.

      • +7

This is just their standard comment on most deals, as they feel the need to police deal posting while simaltanously submitting zero deals themselves.

        • +7

Yeah, just craving attention for being unworthy of love. 114,000 comments on OzBargain is a cry for help, but who would wanna

You know, my kids think you're the greatest. And thanks to your gloomy music, they've finally stopped dreaming of a future I can't possibly provide.

so many classic quotes from that episode. "Eh, making teenagers depressed is like shooting fish in a barrel."

  • Incredible!

    Thank you OP!

  • Damn, pretty good price! Thanks!

  • Thanks, what a bargain! Got 1

  • $129.35 delivered from the US. worth the wait for the tasty saving

    • I wouldn't trust vinyl shipping from Amazon US unless the saving is really tempting - say 15-20% off whatever Amazon AU is offering. But that's just my preference.

I get records from Amazon US reasonably regularly and haven't had an issue yet (touch wood).. but you're right, they aren't overly savvy with their packaging. Sometimes they come in a dedicated mailer, and somethings they just come chucked in a box with that blow up padding stuff. They've all arrived safely and undamaged though (somehow)

And then there's Danzig Roulette. Which seems to randomly still occur.

  • Grabbed one. Indeed still around $210-250 at retailers so it's a pretty good saving for a great double-album.

Thanks mate, Wife's birthday present sorted. She's been asking for this one for a while!

Brilliant! One of my fav albums with the other being Siamese Dream

    • Yes it's wonderful

      • agree, but Gish is my fave

Make sure you check that they play as expected and aren't damaged when they arrive.

Ordered some vinyl from Amazon via a deal on here a few months ago, it arrived and visually wasn't damaged, but when you went to play it, it was unplayable because it had been bent or warped in transit.

I was lucky I tested right away, if I hadn't checked it, it could have sat on my vinyl shelf for months or years before I noticed.

    • This is good advice. Amazon don’t seem to store their vinyl well so I have had various cases of damaged covers, warped records etc.

I have also had them post a record to me without a box or satchel, just stuck the postage label on the shrink wrapped vinyl. Madness.

Still, they are good at replacing when something is damaged so do order from them just be sure to test when you receive it.

Also thanks OP this was always on my Wishlist but it’s so damn expensive. Pulled the trigger at this price.

To add to this, some copies of Mellon Collie have some issues so it's definitely worth playing from start to finish to check.

I got mine in the first run on this re-release and it's excellent, as is the box set. This is an amazing deal.

    • -4

that's genius dekekun, checking that your order is not damaged, wow

      • +3

He means play the records through right away you jerk. Some people buy them but don’t play them right away.

How about if you have nothing constructive to contribute you just shut the fck up? How’s that sound? No don’t answer that no one cares what you think.

    • had this happen twice too, given up unless its a steal.

      • -2

        u keep damaged items, unless it's a steal ? huh ?

  • -5

    Vinyl, lol

  • +6

I own this. It's a nice collectors item, booklets art presentation. Pressing is immaculate too. 4 LP sets make it a novelty though. flipping this 8 times is too tedious for regular use.

  • +7

    I'm gonna buy this toniiiight…

    tonight, to-night…

    • +3

      Vinyl? What is this, 1979?

  • +3

Wasn't the album originally digitally mastered? Seems like a money grab.

    • +1

Yeah. 2 CD version of this LP set is $25. Just this LP set has tracks in different order and 2 bonus tracks.

Also looks like local edition is sold out. Now only showing US import $128.40.

      • +1

i see the cd at most op shops for $1

  • I'm genuinely quite sad about this band- their first 3 albums were truly incredible- some of the best albums of that decade, and still sound fantastic today- timeless classics (despite Corgan's nasal whinings).

then they discovered and overdosed on synthesisers, and have f'd everything up ever since.

I really wish Corgan never came across those bloody keyboards- everything could just continue being great- ie, a big fn wall of squealing guitars smashing my head incessantly. miss it!

    • -2

Adore is their best album, and it's their fourth derdew

      • -1

definitely not!! more like the start of their decline…..(also, it's their 5th album -you forgot pisces iscariot-another one of their greats)

        • Pisces Iscariot is a compilation, not an album, but it is great

  • such a great album for its time

  • +1

I would recommend anyone who is chasing this album don't hesitate. I was after a copy for so long and the discogs prices were insane. I waited because it looked like the usually repress about once a year so grabbed a copy when they did but at $250

If the price has dropped this low perhaps the demand for it has now dropped and they may not repress we again in a years time now

  • got this remastered edition on sale for $40 i feel like over a decade ago? crazy whats happened to vinyl pricing lol… still have the original in the 90s though and prefer it, 3 lp's is annoying enough, but 4 is a slog..

at this price, i'd almost be inclined to go all out on an original copy. it sounds better too, DMM pressing. slightly, less annoying. 90% of the time in the 90s i always listened to the cd but the alternate vinyl track listing is actually interesting.

  • Says I got the last one

    • u didn't

  • Thanks OP!

So mine arrived today. Box was very light which made me suss. Opened and inside was a standard vinyl mailer. Inside this only a single vinyl LP by a heavy metal band I’ve never heard of.

Was ordered via Amazon US but shipped from NSW . All seems fishy. Been on the chat with Amazon for over half hour and have a refund coming supposedly.

Hope the rest of you get the real thing. Wondering if I risk ordering another?

  • Limited time deal now at $106.96 from Amazon US

  • +1

So, this is now $107 :(

Bargain from the bargain! I should return mine.
