TV Sales Are Terrible Compared to Last Year

Is it just me, or are the general TV "run-out" deals terrible compared to 2023, especially the OLEDs?

      I was hoping we'd see another crazy Easter sell-out but not this year. Looks like it will have to be Black Friday unfortunately….

    i always buy from kogan, they are decent priced and generally pretty good.

    i may get downvoted, but … i think we've reached a level of TV quality that the average viewer will not tell the difference between a new tv today and a new tv 5 years ago.

        Mine is….

        I was looking to replace my Samsung Smart TV last year when the 'smart' software stopped being updated but I bought the Nvidia Shield instead and now it's given it a new lease of life that I play everything pertaining to be 'smart' through this.
        I'll now replace the TV when it dies…

          you know you can just buy a dongle like firestick or playstation console and use the smart from that. i never use the smart function in my tv because, 1. its slow. 2. doesnt have the channel im subscribe to, or 3, it stops updating and apps no longer work, so i just use my ps5 as it works on that.

          My LG YT died , so i plugged in my NAS HDMI and now we watch ad-free YT from Firefox off the NAS directly. Thanks QNAP for HDMI out.

      and most people stream to the tv and thats not the best level to watch. i noticed watching Mission Imposable Dead rekoning part at the movies compared to the stream in dark areas it was pixlated. plus all the kids these days watch shitty portrait mode youtube or tiktok vids on it so it doesnt matter anymore.

        Even then, most don't seem to care. For me OLED > everything else. It's just so amazing.

    Waiting for more TV deals, was going to Jump on the TCL C845 75" but was too slow, are we really going to have to wait til black friday or is there still clearance items from last year to come?

    tend to agree, dosent seem to be much the way of great deals right now, would of thought with the new models out now, 2023 models would be heavily discounted, but not what im seeing. might as well pay another 500 etc and get the latest gen…

    ill play the waiting game for now
