Why would a black 33W Anker cost more than a white one?

Do they cost more to manufacture?

      Isn't it obvious…reverse racism. /s

    • +1

      because once you go black…

    • White is right

Good price, think I paid $22.50, probably won't bother putting in a price protection claim.

      • Amazon no longer offers a price protection.

You'll need to return the item then repurchase.

        • 28 Degrees bud 🙃.

Returning is an option though if the price is significant, notwithstanding your time and further impact to the environment.

They no longer offer price protection either.

@jv: They do for me under latitude but not for new accounts (grand fathered) ☺️

              • @G-rig: Are you a grandfather though?

                • @jv: Are you?

Doesn't matter as long as they keep approving the claims - excellent setup.

                  • @G-rig:

as long as they keep approving the claims

My account does not have that option, so i just do refunds via Amazon.

They often tell me to keep the item and issue me credit.

                    • @jv: That's only good for purchases at Amazon 🙃.

You must have joined 28d after they stopped doing it I guess

  • Or this ? Which is 35W and 25W max when both ports charging.

    • +2

Those are the respective max charge Wattage but can't have them charging max simultaneously.

2 Port Fast Charging: When powering 2 devices at the same time, the USB C port can provide up to 25W, and the USB A port can provide up to 7.5W.

      • Yes , but anker is only 20W + 12W max when using both ports.

Given pixel 8 pro is 30w for example, 20w fast charging is not that good, compared to 25w in ugreen.

I was wondering about the Ugreen too, but only to find which charger does the best on the USB A port only. For the Ugreen this info is easy to find (22.5W Max), but I can't find anywhere that Anker provide this info. Eventually I found an unboxing video where the info is clearly shown on the charger, and it's also 33W same as the USB C port. So knowing that I've bought the Anker. Also thanks to the OP for posting this deal.

  • Has anyone tried using this for permanently on device, not as charger?

    • +1

have been using it with m1 MacBook Air for the past few weeks at work, no issues so far

    • I would like to know this as well. planning to permanently connect a chromecast and amazon fire tv (both 4k). Would there be any issues.

      • Would be fine I reckon - i got 3 things plugged into one of those bigger USB adapters.
Before that had CCwGTV pulgged into 18W usb C phone charger.

It isn't very hot to the touch in standby mode. Just test it and see.

On a scale from petrol to HEYMIX, how flammable are these? Is ankers rep with chargers good?

    • +1

Yes, Anker is one of the best

      • Got one for the Galaxy A35. Should be a good match

    • +1

Good question. I didn't find any feedback saying that theirs has melted or caught fire, only a few saying that it gets quite warm. So not recommeded if you want to start a fire with it.

  • these are great and small. i bought the anker gan charger usb c and honestly these are way better with a usb a port and size wise they are small enough.

    • my understanding is this particular one is NOT gan.

and although small, it's not particularly lightweight.

      • This one is not gan.

I don't think the weight of such a small charger is going to make a lot of difference though

        • from memory it was only 20 or 30 grams lighter than the original apple 35W MacBook charger. I was expecting it to be lighter.

      • +1

Why do people go on about. The extra port is a bonus, this one is great if you need a phone charger similar to the 30w Google one, and cheaper. It's small.

  • I bought this on Sunday for $29.99 so you can thank me for causing the discount!
