      Ask the taters in America who camp outside stores to get a bottle for this price

        Really I was in Portland last year and picked up a bottle from Walmart for arnd USD $35.

          So about $54AUD, add the $28 AUD liquor excise, and considering there is no sales tax in Oregon, this is about as cheap as you ever get Buffalo Trace's best borbon and quite comparable to what you paid and where you paid it.

          • @Flyerone: Definitely for this price one of the best bourbon whiskeys I've ever enjoyed.

          Why can't we buy alcohol from Big W in Australia?

      • Taters?

    • It's the name of the brand.

        So it is not rare then as implied in the title…

          Nor does it contain Eagle.

            @Stefce: What about Kentucky?

            • +2

              @Karmond: Without Kentucky in there, it aint bourbon.

                @Flyerone: A common misconception. Bourbon only has to be produced in the US, not Kentucky!

    This is my favourite bourbon to have on the rocks. Incredibly smooth, rich caramel taste. Give me this or a $300+ bottle of scotch, I'll be choosing this. $81 is great value

      eagle rock

    • Absolutely.
      Wonderful drop for on the rocks.
      It's my favourite out of my 10 or so bottles or bourbon/whisky

    • Give me this or a $300+ bottle of scotch, I'll be choosing this.

      Nah, you need to try more malts, or even bourbons. This is a great price but ER10 is pretty average imo, even the 17 year old is my least favourite BTAC. I'd pick Wild Turkey 101 or Rare Breed over this, which (from memory) has a similar mashbill.

      But everyone has different tastes, so if you think this is better than a $300 bottle of Scotch, bourbon, or rye, then you should buy a case because this is a bargain. Elijah Craig Barrel Proof used to be a $300 bourbon, but now they have a distributor so it's around $180. I bought a case for $160 each.

      • Eagle rare is a good daily driver for me

        Rare breed is like $100 on special though… but I agree I love that stuff.
        Bought some Russel's reserve 10 for $70 on clearance at first choice. Pretty nice but prefer the rare breed.
        All wild turkey bourbons use same mash bill which has more rye than eagle rare( 13% vs reported 10%) and you can taste the extra spice.

        That $300 number he threw out is ludicrous

        • Still relatively low rye mashbills. ER10 uses BT's #1 mashbill and I don't think they publicly disclose what's in their mashbills, only that there's a low rye and high rye. You should try ECBP, it's $159 at The Whisky List. I remember you being a member.

            @rosebank: Yea you are correct.
            Thanks I wasn't a big fan of regular EC but I'll be trying the ECBP C922 at the upcoming TWL
            Heaven Hill, Elijah Craig, Pikesville & Old Fitzgerald tasting
            Cheers

  • Just price matched at Dan Murphy's. $80 pickup. Great price
