Best Comfortable Shoes for Walking/Long Time Standing?

Hi
I'm looking for a pair of shoes for my mom. She is on her feet a lot and walks around a lot. Any suggestions on which shoes to get? Has to be comfortable.
Thanks

If that’s in 1 place has she considered an anti fatigue mat too?

Here I was expecting you to say Assassins

"Comfortable" is subjective. Some people like sandals, some like Doc Martens. What does SHE prefer?

Skechers has comfortable shoes so check what style and colour she might like there.

+1 on sketchers, the base feels like the foam layers of crocs but more breathable

Welcome to OzBargain Australia. I think you might be after http://slickdeals.net/ which is apparently "is the yankee equivalent of Ozbargain."

Lots of nurses swear by Hoka shoes, although there are other options. However keep in mind that the high soled/super cushion Hoka (or any other brand) can be a little unstable side to side, just because of the height. So it depends on whether she needs good stability (eg moving around sideways, like a chef) or just something comfortable to stand (retail).

In any case, have a look at what nurses wear and you are pretty much assured that it will be a good shoe, assuming it fits well

  • On cloud.

  • Anything with flat, rubber soles (no heel). For example, classic Converse All Star low top sneakers. Or something lighter, like Dunlop Volley. Then add orthotics. Nothing can beat this combination in my experience.

I used to use the Skecher leather work shoes (which last for years at 10 hours a day doing teaching) but after developing neuromas, my podiatrist moved me to Hoka, specifically Clifton 9s.

If Mum is struggling and, Im going to assume she's over 40, take her to a reputable podiatrist first. Woman start to suffer lots of things from middle age that play out through the feet (neuroma, sciatica, hip pain, arthritis, cold feet, swelling and hotness with menopause etc)

  • New Balance Fresh Foam line

  • Asics Gel Nimbus 26 or Gel Nimbus 25 if on discount. Apparently, it is Asics' most comfortable shoe.

  • Hush Puppies and Easy Steps.
