Thanks i grabbed some. The 1 solution cut and polish they had on clearance last year also worked really well with a buffing machine.

    • Do you do this after wash ? Any extra steps ?

      • +1

Yeah this is the last step, the protection layer. If your really pedantic you could do a decontamination step with something like Bowden's 3 way after your wash and before the wax.

        • So, do you think that after a normal Autoglym Polar Wash,
I can use the 3-Way and go straight to wax (eg. this Turtle Wax, Griot's, etc.) ?

I don't need "colour compound" (eg. Meguiars) ?

          • +2

@whyisave: Yes! Just make sure after the 3 way you give it another wash before hitting it with a wax or coating.

    • Agree. I was mildly surprised. At least as 80% as good as meguiars ultimate compound and polish but all in 1 step.

  • Thanks op got 1.

  • Order one thanks!

  • Great price for a pretty good wax!

  • Do you need a buffing machine for this? Or is there a better solution for a protection layer that you can apply by hand? My car is parked in the sun all day so trying to UV protect as much as possible, but on a bit of a budget…

    • Yeah you can apply it by hand, ideally with a foam applicator. There's not much better at this price.

  • I've used this product a few times. 90% of your gloss comes from polishing and paint quality but it's still easy enough to apply and comes out nice. I've noticed it does lose hydrophobicity within a few weeks unlike ceramic sprays and it's a bit of a dust magnet. Great at protecting against bird droppings at least - it leaves the paint feeling very slick.

I like it but still greatly prefer the usual TW ceramic spray, griots 3-in-1, most Gyeon products, etc. But for the price you can't go wrong.

    • I did half the car, right down the middle. After 6 months the Hybrid side still beads after rain.

Still not sure if this is a good thing as the Hybrid side then dries in blotches, whereas the untouched side dries evenly

I have no idea who negged you for your detailed feedback so I need to rectify it.

How effective is this stuff for waxing actual turtles? Asking for a friend.

    • -1

Pretty good, especially with a buffing machine.

    • +6

I have a stable of racing turtles and I've noticed they get through the water much quicker after a few applications of this stuff.
Edit: I see there's a SCA "recall" on the product, probably due to illegal performance enhancement?

  • +19

Lol i work at supercheap wont say which one but theyre on clearance because theres issues with the product. Not quite sure what exactly as i havent checked but think there may be a recall on it. Would avoid if possible.

    • +1

Almost bought until I read this. Thanks

    • I'm calling BS on this.

      • +7

Theres a poster in the office at my work that outlines the issues. I just cant guarantee if theres any recall on it thats all.

Theres 2 huge boxes of this product in the back dock that literally says to not put it on the shelves. Not sure why they decided to sell this again but I'll confirm when im in tomorrow morning.

        • +4

Please do. I'm happy to be proven wrong. Mrs Muzeeb does it all the time.

          • +10

@Muzeeb: Checked this morning. A huge portion of this product was defective. The product is supposed to be white and fully liquid, however a number of this product was yellow and had chunks in it. Many customers had reported that it had stained their car.

So feel free to buy it but just double check if theyre defective or not. Seems to be that TW had quality control issues and was sent out to many stores. I assume its been rectified but best to be safe.

edit: i confirmed myself by opening a few bottles. 70% of what i checked was defective

            • @Bruhhhcamo: @Bruhhhcamo so were the defective ones obviously yellow and easy to spot? I've just ordered one C&C so if that's the case, when I grab it I'll open it in store and check.

              • @bozzabear: Yea just open the lid and pour it into the cap. Without anything to compare the colour to just check for any lumps or chunks in the liquid. Unless its obviously quite yellowish

            • @Bruhhhcamo: Thanks for confirming and getting back to the ozbee community mate. Have my (worthless) up vote. ❤️
              @Bruhhhcamo

            • @Bruhhhcamo: If it's a defective product and there is a recall on it, why is supercheap still selling them?

              • @ak-km: Because they know that a lot of fomo OzBozo types will buy clearance products and then just leave them on the shelf for 3 years…

              • +5

@ak-km: As said before, i couldnt guarantee if there was a recall or not on all products. It wasnt an issue that affected all products just a large portion. This means it was a quality control issue not a design or production issue so recall may not be necessary.

What im warning other buyers is to double check the quality before use just in case they slipped up in production again.

It may be on clearance because due to the defect, people stopped buying and trusting it and to get rid of excess stock its on clearance. Hope this helps

            • +1

@Bruhhhcamo: Big props for alerting us and follwing up Bruh.

Went from yoghurt to cheese? Good of SCA to make the consumer aware (not) and let them play russian roulette.

            • @Bruhhhcamo: I checked the 3 I bought and all looked good.

        • -5

Fake news¿, I purchased last time it was on clearly does leave a dust like residue the next day even after a thorough buff so did require a second buff.

Not a perfect product but can work wonders on light scuffs/scratches after a few rounds.

          • @Ciderfizz44: Leaving a dust residue means it's a shit product, a wax shouldn't need a "a few rounds".

            • +1

@doubleclutching: adding wax to anything needs buffing in which causes static… dont know any waxes that avoid dust to be attracted to it a few days after…

    • +1

Thanks for the heads up, was about to pull the trigger on it, being a fan of TW's hybrid lineup!

      • -1

Why are you even believing these completely unsubstantiated claims? FFS

    • +3

Can confirm went to my local SCA that had this in stock and on sale. Opened it up and sure enough theres heaps of clumps. Thanks for the heads up @Bruhhhcamo

      • -1

Same. I opened up maybe 10 bottles and they all had bits in it like dried compound plus the contents was beige in colour. The best thing about SCA is how easy they are to deal with so it's no hassle to refund before I C&C.

        • +2

Yet Supercheap Auto contiinues to sell
          to any a unsuspecting consumer;
          it is not right.

    • I ordered 2 bottles, went to pick them up recently.

First bottle, I saw little yellow specks in it, not sure if I noticed any clumps. Yellow specks still remained after lots of shaking.
Second bottle, no yellow specks, no clumps, not completely white, more of an beige colour, but will look white when its applied as thin coat.

I noticed the First bottle had a different type of lid to the 2nd, and was a bit dustier.

I got a refund on the First bottle.

  • tried this on my 10yo black golf bonnet, seen almost no difference before/after. used by hand tho

    • Did you compound and polish the bonnet bonut first?

    • On the back of the bottle there are instructions and highlighted in cherry red you have to polish or compound before applying this wax.

So you can safely assume that this TW product does not contain any abrasive or fillers as clearly demonstrated by your treated paintwork.

This guy uses a damp cloth before buffing it out. Clever idea to stop the potential dusting.

    • As per the instructions iirc. He appears to be a paid TW promoter although I didn't see anything wrong with his processes or comments.

    As mentioned above.

    Seems an ACCC concern
if Supercheap Auto is clearly in fact aware and/or ought to be of this/its defective product.

With any liability attracting an obligation to put right the problem—for example, fixing defective product,
providing compensation or taking other action to affected consumers. (Sales practices: https://www.accc.gov.au/system/files/Sales%20practices%20-%2…)

There's some orange dots in it. But I cbf returning. Just going to use it.

  • Ive returned 4 to blackburn store if anyone is interested

    • -1

Was the product all clumpy like others are reporting?

  • No idea, i returned it while i was click and collecting. Didnt want to open it incase they dont accept return as its a clearance item.

  • +1

Hmm ordered mine before reading all this… going to check… ok I checked and ffs yellow and clumpy.
