Good price…. ok it might be an old console, but lots of inexpensive games out there for it and is still great for the younger kids in the house….

I got one last time when it was $98 just as a backup. It's still sitting brand new in its box.

Would recommend also getting a component cable (eg http://dx.com/p/just-works-480p-component-av-cable-for-wii-4…) so you can squeeze 480p out of the thing.

    • What resolution is it without the cable?

      • +1

AFAIK with the standard composite cable it will do 576i and 480i while with the component cable it can do 576i, 480i and 480p. I think PAL models can also do 576p but virtually all games will only run at a max of 480p anyway.

  • Any Black Balance Board Wii deals ?
    +

    • Fairly sure that here in Australia the black balance board came bundled with the black console only as a limited edition.

  • Great deal if you dont have one… or as some have said maybe a good backup or one to play around with and mod/hack. Hmmm… tempting…

  • +2

Yeah - great deal. Mario Kart was at least $70 when it came out, and is a game that never grows old. Great to play on your own, and even better with more people.

The console in my opinion is great. I modded mine very early on. No need to install chips on the motherboard or anything like that. Simply install some software on an SD card and away you go.

    Why mod?
I use mine to play old Super Nintendo games (ROMZ) I miss (i.e Street Fighter Two, Mortal Kombat, R-Type etc).

    $99, you cant go wrong.

    • Not too sure if you can mod the new ones anymore? Well at least play off backed up romz off the DVD drive…. I too have an old version mainly as an impromptu media player for the kids as plays most codecs unlike my WDTV. The only shame is the resolution.

  • Delivery is not free for me even if I add some other items. I think it is only free if at least one item is over $100.

    • +3

Nope i tried this and just add a $2.99 battery pack, and once u hit checkout, it will take the $9.95 delivery fee off

      • That's correct

      • +1

No Worries. Proceed to payment. They will wave the amount.

        FYI

        • I tried 3-4 times and with different browsers. when I went to cart it showed me the delivery fee has been waived but as soon as I proceeded to checkout delivery fee was again added. Is my address in Canberra has anything to do with it?
So I got it for $108. still a good deal.

        • Ring up their customer support and kindly explain what happened. The should refund the appropriate amount

  • Delivery is still 9.95 even after checkout total is +$100

  • This console is the easiest console out of xbox 360 and ps3 to modify for third party applications. It is also an awesome media player with mplayer ce installed (plays almost anything) except divx although it does play xvid. For details go to https://sites.google.com/site/completesg/

  • ive got a wii that plays backup game disc…..if anyone is interested and I have some hard cover games. Havent used it for a year
    Willing to post interstate.

From memory backups arent illegal if you own the original disc.

  • Im not sure, but the wii is kind of dead already isnt it? I went on to ign and they don't even have a tab for wii anymore.

    • +2

With the Wii U coming out soon, the original Wii is indeed near the end of its life, which means it most likely be getting any more major new games. It's still a great deal for anyone who doesn't already have one yet though — after all, every Wii game is a new game to them ;)

  • Got a white Wii. Now bought a black Wii. Couldn't be happier with both black & white.
