Not quite as cheap as the previous Q8 Pro deal.

Promo code gets applied at checkout.

Not the lowest it's been ($98.99 according to C3), but $44 off is a win, and still better than the Aliexpress prices!

  • Anyone got any good recommendations for a cheap one, single AA battery?

I bought a few about 10 years ago, $5 each. But the buttons have become a bit dodgy now.

Missed out on $78 deal a couple of days ago. Will wait for that price again

    • +3

The $78 deal was for a different 11k lumen light ;)

      • Oh, ok. This is 16000 lumen. Brighter

  • +3

FYI Apparently the Q8 Pro is the better light, it doesn't thermal throttle as quick as the Q8 Plus

    • +2

Yeah I don't care about maximum lumens on turbo mode, I want to know the maximum sustainable lumens.

Q8 Pro is pretty much the sweet spot, until you want to go for something significantly brighter that requires a handle because it literally gets too hot to handle.

Bought one of these a while back and despite it blowing me away with the light output I sent it back as it just felt awkward holding a beercan sized torch .

If you need to search a frozen lake for a lost friend who fell through the ice , or signal a passing 747 at 35000ft this would be perfect ,

but for around the house sc31 or campsite if22a (or headlamp)
I much prefer sofirn’s smaller ergonomic offerings that I’m more likely to have on me and use

    • +2

I have both an SC31 and one of these Q8's. The light output of the SC31, especially in turbo mode, is more than enough for 99% of tasks. The advantages of the Q8 for me is that it goes forever between charges, and I never misplace it because it stands up vertically and is bulky and obvious.

Absolutely love these deals for lights that tell me how they’re like “four hundred trillion lumens bright” as if I know what a lumen even is or how bright they are. I’m sure this is something I could google, but being a middle aged man I basically already know everything there is to know, so I figure there are some mysteries to the universe I should just leave be; and dammit, ignorance is bliss.

    • I spend my Middle Age years sending product recommendations, last one I got approved (at last) was nuts and gum

Ah, so you don’t know everything there is to know? 🙂

I know understanding satire seems to be a lost art these days, but my comment was very clearly a joke.

        • -1

Their not too bright , unless someone’s throwing a torch at them .

    • All I know is iPhone torch can get to 50 lumens max. That convinced me to buy a sc31 to take to the beach just in case.

Will my rooster be fooled if I turn this on at 2am?

    • theres no fooling your cock….

  • What batteries does it use?

    • +1

The Q8 plus uses 3x 21700 batteries. You can charge them via USB in the torch, or in a charger if you have a compatible one.

  • +1

What battery(ies) does this use? The listing says both "1 lithium polymer batteries required", and "3 high capacity batteries"? Is it compatible with different types?|

    Edit: A review says:

    What it comes with:

    • three 21700 LI-ION batteries
    • +2

Got mine today and can confirm 3x 21700 Li-ion 5000mAh batteries. They have a raised flat-top. Not quite button-top.

  • Already have the original BLF Q8, so grabbed the SL1 lantern at 45% off.

  • I bought this brighter one (20000 lumens) with half price , made in German . I

    • It's a nice torch, but it's definitely not 20,000 lumens.

    • That ain't 20000lm chief, sorry to bust your bubble
