Cheapest Way to Cruise for Big Families and for 12-14 Days?

Hi,

Does anyone have any advice on the cheapest way to book an Ocean view room for a bigger family (5) for a cruise 10-14 days long over the next 3 months?

I saw the Pacific Island tour which was fantastic but was sadly outside of my budget.

Are there any kids sail free packages that are available?

Thanks

5 member families are considered big now? 😯

  • Only due to cabin size being maxed at 4.

  • You have basically just missed cruise season, which is about October/November to March/April down here. Most cruise ships are currently, or will shortly be, relocating to warmer climates for their summer season.

From memory I think Carnival offer 5 people rooms, but it is not going to be much fun with 5 people in one room on any ship.

How old are you kids? Most of these deals are for tiny kids.

Unless you have a baby, you're going to need two rooms as not many ships allow 5 people in a room.

Cruise ships are like airlines, a bum in the seat is a bum in the seat and the pricing isn't really much cheaper for kids.

So if you want to go cruising, you're just going to have to pay for it or pick a cheaper cruise line to use.

Kids sail free are usually a year out at least. Look at 2025 sailings.

5 bed rooms are rare. You can get 2 adjoining, even in the lower decks, inside (which will be the cheapest).

    Realistic options will be:

    Royal Caribbean
    P and O
    Princess
    Maybe Carnival and Celebrity

Kids deal almost always cut off at 12. It has to do with food consumption.

If you have children over 12, youll want to consider group bookings or 50/75% off second passenger deals

Just looking at RCI - 30% off for ANZ cruises, kids $59pn. If you can go Jan 25 onwards cheapest is $1600 ea and you've got either Sth Pacific, NZ or Singapore (all ex Sydney)

P and O is keeping a ship in Australia over winter but nothing longer than 5 days.

Also, you may want to reconsider the length. 2 weeks at sea for kids is nothing short of torture especially with limited internet.
