On a side note, I was at Japan and on my last day went to akibara? The place where all the anime is and randomly found a gundum shop in one of the buildings. Pretty cool lots of kits and so I bought a basic model as it would be my first just to build (and also coz I had seen the gundum yokohama factory before it closed) so the model I bought was only ¥1100 so roughly $11 aud right
Anyhow I get random gundum recommendations on my Amazon feed and unbelievable somehow the exact same model was available for purchase! Albeit it was $20 but still gosh I thought I was getting limited edition gumdum model but geez can just easily get the same shit on Amazon 😳
Gunpla wiki often has the rrp, if not you can see it on sites like gundam kits collection or Japan retail sites.
Good rule of thumb… if it's that cheap, it's probably not limited

The MG is 12 years older and doesnt have the articulation of the RG kit, but it is bigger and a slightly different design.
Am I the only person who doesn't get their Amazon gundam orders fulfilled? Still waiting on my Mgex 1/100 from Feb despite ordering very quickly after it was posted. Previous order was cancelled on me after about 4 months.
That one hasn’t shipped for me either. Every other gundam orders have. Probably awaiting stock.

I got the MGEX, but I pre ordered it since last year June.
I had a similar problem as you with the MGSD Freedom Gundam.
So what I did was contact Amazon Au using their Chat support and asked if it's possible for them to ship me the Kit from Amazon US while only having to pay the same price as I bought it for while buying it from Amazon AU. I then told them that it's currently available at Amazon US and I don't have a timeframe for when it will be available in Amazon AU. They agreed and told me to cancel my order and buy it at the current US price but would refund me the difference once it arrived at home.
Take screenshots of the chat if you want to try this out. Otherwise, cancel your order and buy it from Hobbyco since it's available and free delivery.
Same thing happened to me when I tried to by that god hand snipper, AZ JP seller won't delivering, contacted cs and told order elsewhere and AZ will refund me the price difference.
It's a 13 yrs old kit.
But it's an ageless hobby.
Very good design for a 13 y/o kit imo. Some parts are quite finnicky but the overall build was fun and complex enough for inter builders.
