Elegoo has multiple listings at different prices so hopefully I've found the cheapest for each model.

Neptune 4 Pro $283.99 225x225x265mm build area - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/395014872018
Neptune 4 Plus $359.19 320x320x385mm build area - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/394727782696 (select correct model from dropdown.)
Neptune 4 Max $452.79 420x420x480mm build area - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/395122342367

Note: At time of writing only 5 available on the above Plus listing. Next cheapest is https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/395040969123 @ $393.59

All models run Klipper and are capable of nozzle temps up to 300C and print speeds up to 500mm/s. However, these are not Bambus. You won't get an out of box and ready to print machine, some prior experience is definitely going to help otherwise a bit of learning is needed first.

They also seem to be hit and miss, some people get great results out of them while others give up and end up returning them (whether that prior experience comes into it I dont know) As far as I've seen at least Elegoo are pretty good with support sending spare parts when required. I've had a Plus for a few months (bought for a little over $400 at the time) and while I haven't had much time to give it a good workout so far I'm liking it and it's giving decent results. There are very active FB groups and Discord dedicated to these printers which can be very helpful.

Just don't underestimate the space required for the Plus and especially Max machines.

    Awesome pricing.
I’m waiting on my OrangeStorm Giga to arrive

    • I'd love one of those.. though having enough trouble fitting the Plus :D

      • The 4 max is stupidly cheap for a printer of its size.
Just keep in mind the physics of a bed slinger of that size and volume…
But I’ve seen some videos of large vases being printed and it’s amazing

        • Only $40 something more now than I paid for the Plus. Given I can't fit it where thought I was going to put it anyway I would have gotten the Max at that price. Was still a fair bit more at the time though, but now I'm finding things I want to print where that extra 100mm would have made all the difference.

See a lot of helmets printed on the Max on the FB group, for example this guy (probably can't view without joining group, but his prints look really good)

@bamzero: Plus Klipper is a nice improvement over the Neptune 3 series!

            • @Commodore64: I've got a Neptune 3 pro and I'm eyeing off a 4 max. I have no idea what I'd use it for, but hell… I want one

Definitely best place to buy Elegoo is eBay and try to combine with eBay codes.
I got the Neptune 4 Plus and the Saturn 3 Ultra at about 60% off their direct prices/Amazon prices.

  • arrrrrrgh I wish I had a more stable living situation so I could fit the Max

  • Real question is did they ever fix the half-baked firmware these launched with?

    • Definitely still room for improvement, but it's gotten better I believe.
OpenNept4une is probably a better option though.

      • Interesting. Didn't knew this existed. Might give it a go. Got Neptune 4 and agree firmware bit buggy.

  • What kind of experience/tuning may be needed for something like a plus? I just got the sv06 plus and klipperrised it. But i cant get it anywhere near the 6000mms acceleration the youtubers get. Im a noob so would i have similar challenges with this?

    • Yeh, there's a lot of factors that come in to play.
What slicer are you using and what are you printing?
Sometimes the travel path is just to short for the printer to get up to these fast speeds, but there's lots of settings to tweak in your slicer too.

Maybe search for profiles for your printer that are already tweaked or if you can find a Facebook group for your model, asking there someone might be able to provide you with one.

But to answer your question more directly, this printer will provide much the same challenges as your Sovol I would think.

      • Yeah Ive tried Cura and Orca since switching to klipper. Found a few youtube channels that shows the experience with Klipper and also links to various profiles for sv06 plus with klipper. But i just cant get their profiles to print on mine. Keep trying to go through all the different tuning info i can find. Next up, bed levelling with silicon thingy ma bobs :).

Been a huge learning curve for me since getting mine late last year. Best advice I can give anyone is use 50x50 first layer test to set z offset and bed leveller 5000 for levelling. Also use elegoo cura 5.6 until you can learn how to set up your preferred slicer.

I have finally just started to get some good results after doing this.

    • The screws tilt adjust function built in to klipper works pretty well too then I set my z offset with a 0.1mm feeler gauge, usually pretty spot on (for PLA at least)

  • I've got this, was a bargain even at $330. Having lots of fun with it. Hated the copy of cura and couldn't get orcaslicer to work until I downloaded a random config file off their discord. Spent a while leveling it, but it works perfectly now. I usually print at 250 which is good enough.
