Black one is currently $129 from CentreCom
Up from $109 not too long ago.

  • whats peoples thoughts on using these in a small bedroom sized (projector) setup? looking to get some mediocre sized speakers in the upper corners of the room but hestitant at the 4" form factor as others have reported very little bass.

They seem to have good bass extension for the size (only rolling off below 70hz), but they are tuned relatively flat without a boosted bass. A bit of EQ could change that, but of course a 4" driver can only do so much.

Bass is actually pretty reasonable. It doesn't go deep into the low frequencies but it's strong from about 50hz and up.

      • they're sounding promising!

I have some little speakers (Presonus Eris E3.5) that also don't go super low, but I've paired them with a Voll subwoofer, which is tucked out of sight in a corner. I went this way because if you go up in speaker sizes for extra bass, you tend to need to go a fair bit bigger to REALLY get more bass, and I felt like I'd still be wanting a sub.

      • yeh my only concern with a sub is that in reality we only need it late nights (kids asleep), so im not after huge amounts of bass either. so far the response seems that these will suit

    • i may have just thought of a blocker to these? if they're placed "out of reach" in the corners of the room, and given they dont have auto-standby, id be needing to use the power button on the RHS speaker to turn these on/off? i assume turning them on/off at the socket would start them in standby mode?
