My back is desperate for something better than the Officeworks chair I'm currently slouched over. This ErgoTune is reasonably well liked (I've tried it once before, thought it was good).

And though this isn't its best price, it's not bad. Particularly if you qualify for free shipping.

From my research, some people seem to prefer the Ergohuman. But that seems to start at around $780 shipped, and I'm not sure how big the difference is.

much difference between this and steelcase. Steelcase will be better and more expensive but in term for back health and sitting for long periods of time would this be okay?

    • Good luck with that :) I couldn’t imagine spending very long in a chair made for massage if it for WFH.
I’d be impressed if everything in that feature packed bargain chair lasted much more than 12 months. BTW, you need to add $40.79 shipping so $190 for landfill in 12 months

    • You could just click through to the other colours to see the 1 star reviews

  • Could imagine that colour getting dirty quickly in comparison to the black colour.

I got the Coral Red one a bit over 2 years ago, it still looks pristine.
Very easy to clean, a disinfecting wipe does the job perfectly.

For what it's worth, I've got a steelseries leap v2 at home and this ergotune at work. I hate the ergotune. Lumbar is so overly hard that it's taken a significant amount of time for me to get used to it.

    • can you take the cloth part off and clean it?

I looked at it and couldnt see how

      • There's no cloth. It's mesh.

    • Is it three times worse than the SteelSeries though? It's a completely different price range, so just wondering if the ergotune is still worth the money?

      • Chairs are obviously very personal but I would sit on any other cheaper chair that doesn't have such aggressive lower back support, the steelcase personality is much better at a similar price IMO

        • Which Steelcase are you referring to? Because the Leap is 3 times the price. Which I wouldn't consider a similar price point.

    • I agree with your point about the lumbar support, it's just too 'aggressive'.
This is my only complaint to this chair.

    • It's funny, I'm exactly the opposite - I want the lumbar support to actually support me. I hate the office chairs floating around over the last decade with a lumbar support that just moves out of the way the second the slightest bit of weight is applied.

That said, you do know that these have an adjustable lumbar support right? There's a screw handle on the back of it for that.

I have this. Have to say I'm not a big fan personally as my tailbone hurts after sitting on it for more than an hour. Maybe it's just me.

Terrible chair. Bought a RH New Logic 220 during the lockdowns, best investment ever

Everyone who says this chair sucks seems to be suggesting ones that are 2-4x the price? So maybe it's actually good for the money?

    • If you ever sat on one, you would not be saying that. Lower lumbar is horrible

I had one for about a month and thought it was good. So considering getting again. But working hard to find & consider any other options in the price range :S

This is such a mad take - lumbar is one of the primary reasons I love this chair. I did my back some years back and have struggled on-and-off through different 'ergonomic' chairs. This is the first one that I've found overall comfortable in large part because of the heavily adjustable lumbar support. It's been excellent.

I brought one of these (supreme v2) in 2021 still happy with it after sitting in it 8+ hours most days ever since. In the cases where I have hurt my back it has been the only seat in the house I could sit in.

Earlier this year the gas struct failed and they were very quick to dispatch the replacement parts. Been very happy would recommend.
