Great speakers, bought 2 for my Spa, it's fell in a few times and still works perfectly fine

  • Can you turn these on via app?

    • Physical button turns on the power!

Out of interest, are there others that do turn on with an app?

      • Yeah, the UE Megaboom can be turned on with the app. Can also turnd it off.

        • Sony BT speaker app can do that too I think.

        • Oh wow, ok, that's what Bluetooth LE can be used for - great!

I found a couple of python scripts that let you turn on your UE speaker from your computer, which I guess is pretty cool.

          • @Droz: Yeah, it should be a minimum standard, so handy.

  • Can anyone with knowledge on sound compare Soundcore Motion+ to this one on amazon, it has good reviews but how do two stack against each other in spec ?

  • wow, replacing studio monitors with portable bluetooth speakers?? what's your use case?

    • I also get much more enjoyment from bluetooth speakers than bookshelf type speakers. don't know what it is not an audiophile I guess. πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ

      • in my room, I use my bookshelf speakers at the desk and bluetooth when im not at my desk

        • fair enough. I joined a hifi forum once. tried to learn about it and got recommended bookshelf speakers because "you can point out the instruments in the room" (which you cant see of course so imaginary instruments).

it was overrated imo. yeah the effect is there but just give me two speakers right next to each other in a small box. I also enjoy how its more personal than room filling sound. just like lying on my bed with the speaker right next to me.

          • @harshbdmmaster718: mind if I ask what bookshelves you ended up getting?

            • @Bacons: sorry I had forgotten what they were called had to look them up based on appearance using google.

              Elac debut 2.0.

I have to repeat I am definitely not an audiophile so I likely just cant appreciate the experience.

              • @harshbdmmaster718: all good, no judgement, i was just curious. If its the B6.2 from the debut 2.0 line, then theyre by no means a bad set. I think its respectable to sell them rather than forcing yourself to like them just because you know theyre better

@Bacons: yeah I mean I think they have their purpose. like gentle room filling sound as background music when you have someone over.
I can confirm this because I have compared it this way to a smart speaker (like Sonos type speakers all in one). the smart speaker cant fill the room with sound, it just sounds like its coming from that single speaker. but if you have two bookshelfs and place them far apart like enough to fit two tv's, they can give great room filling sound.

youre right probably could sell them. because they don't get enough use. πŸ™ƒ
