Really want this but worried i dont actually like 8 inch knives

    • I can say my whole life I used 160 to 180mm knives. But this 210mm is so light that makes it feel so easy to use. It's fragile though. I still use my old knives for tougher jobs.
But for that price I couldn't ever find anything remotely close to this quality. I became a big fan over night

The Ozbargain way is to purchase first, find use later.

      • +9

        Not 100% correct.

Purchase first, then allow to collect dust

        • +4

Perfect, I need some new dust collectors

    • I use a 180mm knife 90% of the time, I'm also not sure if I'll like using a 210 but this is a great knife for a great price so I'll see how it goes.

    • I prefer 9 inch nails!

Can anyone recommend a suitable sheath for this?

      Too soon mate, too soon

  • How do these compare to mundial, i find my mundials keep loosing edge so they sit in the block unused.

    • +1

I have used mundials, this will hold an edge longer as it's CrMo steel. Still have to sharpen though on occasion.

Edit: it's a CrMo steel not VG10 this model, still same comment

I bought mine in November and I've had to sharpen it twice so far (home use).

It also seems to be more difficult getting it to a razor edge than my other knife, not sure if that's just a characteristic of stainless vs carbon steel, but it's kind of annoying. I can get my carbon knife back to shaving sharpness in a few minutes, but this takes me about 2 or 3 times longer.

Very good value at this price though, like crazy value.

  • Is this sharp enough to cut fish bones? I damage a few knifes when cutting bones :(

    • +4

Get a cleaver or Deba knife which are made to deal with bones.

      • youre not supposed to damage knives when cutting fish bones, are you cutting at the joints? you can also just scissors as an alternative

  • Is it stamped or forged? I am finding conflicting info online

    • +1

They will be stamped for sure just from the cost alone, definitely looks to be also.

      • But my 35 dollar mercer genesis is forged?…….have i been lied to lol

        • I would assume lied to

  • +1

Too late. Can anyone still answer, is 210mm the length of the blade or does it include the handle?

  • +3

Bought one from other deal, really sharp, but i feel not worth the money, the 40$ knife victorynox just as sharp like this.

  • +1

    Are these worth it?
Or is it more if you have to ask it’s a no sorta deal?

    • +4

Depends how much you enjoy the pleasure of slicing tomatoes perfectly without any squashing 🤣

  • -2

there are hundreds of knives on Amazon, all the same quality. Average quality.

  • 2 back in stock for $76.20

  • Yea, I missed out.

I'm determined to buy only at $70.
