Keep getting: "Your cart has changed. Please re-select a shipping option." despite items showing as available to pickup? Anyone else experiencing the same error?

    • I think this happens when you have multiple JB HiFi tabs open.

      • It went through when I logged out and purchased as a guest

Go to settings, kill the JB cookies, and only use one tab. I used to have this problem a lot, going round and round in circles.

  • The online cart for me isnt maximising the discount. Only discounts the lowest prices. Anyone know how to get around this to only pay for 1 delivery?

      Pickup and split order

  • Anyone know if Amazon will match this deal, like they have in previous years?

Glib answer aside, here's are some high quality 4K releases available at JB:

        • 2001
        • The Big Lebowski
        • Dune
        • Oppenheimer
        • Godfather Trilogy
        • The Fugitive
        • Top Gun / Top Gun Maverick
        • Singing in the Rain
        • Apocolypse Now
        • Batman Nolan trilogy
        • Matrix Trilogy
        • Reservior Dogs
        • Revenant
        • The Maltese Falcon
        • Cheers already have some of those would love to get the Revenant but can't find it online sadly

  • I ended up pairing 1923 on Blu-ray with the Ocean’s trilogy on 4K… I would’ve preferred to find another title closer in price to the Ocean’s trilogy to pair with it, but there wasn’t really anything else I wanted… Grindhouse: Planet Terror /Death Proof and The Gate collection are priced at $59.98 on Blu-ray, and the Firestarter collection is $54.98, which was the only other titles I was considering but in the end I decided I didn’t want them.

I also paired Contagion with The Departed on 4K, both were $26.98, and I paired U-571 on 4K with Batman: Mask of the Phantasm which were priced at $29.98 each (U-571 was priced incorrectly in store I believe because it’s $34.98 on their website).

I’m undecided whether I am going to buy anything else in this years B1G1F BD/4K sale, these purchases might be it for me.

Never bought physical 4k blue ray disc before.
How can I play this using my PC?
Bit of research suggests i need to have Intel CPU to be able to play 4k blueray? Is that correct?
    I have AMD 7900 cpu :(

If thats the case, whats the most cost effective way of playing 4k blueray disc? Buying a player seems cost a lot in $300ish mark

    • Ps5? If you want to game anyway.

I would have thought there would be 4k players in the $200 range.

      • +1

No plan to game in console since ive already built pc gaming rig lol
Why do they make this so difficult just to play a disc.. sigh

        • Blu Ray isn't exactly the highest tech, but in a computer it's not easy. The absolute cheapest way would be a secondhand Blu Ray player or Playstation 3 from the op shop, pawn shop or eBay.

          • @sparkles: That would only work for standard blus, not 4K discs fwiw

It can be done, but it's a hassle and you have to be a dedicated nerd to do it. There's flashing of drives involved.

      My setup is:
LG WH16NS40 Super Multi Blu Internal SATA 16x Blu-ray Disc Rewriter (this has to be flashed to a hacked firmware to read 4k discs)
Alxum USB 3.0 to SATA Converter Adapter Cable (to connect the Blu to a USB port on your computer unless you are installing internally)
Software to play 4k discs - Leawo Free 4K Blu-ray Player

You will also want to make sure your monitor does HDR.

Otherwise, for your tv you just need a 4k disc player like the Sony UBP-X700. Otherwise X-Box series X and PS5 both do 4k Blu but you should know what you are getting. https://www.whathifi.com/advice/which-is-the-best-4k-blu-ray…

Cheapest way I can think of for 4K Blu-ray would be buying a used Xbox One S or Xbox One X console. If lucky could find one for $100-$150.

    • I think the Panasonic DP-UB450GN is probably the cheapest standalone option at the moment at $299.

Pairing it with the Hobbit would be good idea. These are hardly on sale!

      • Damn it! I might have to go back now.

      • I saw this comment and bought the Hobbit trilogy along with berserk instead of cowboy bebop. But have never seen it and read many bad comparisons compared to LOTR? Is it a set worth buying?

I just wanted berserk but buy one get one free always make the purchases bigger!

  • Anyone want to go halves on the Ocean's Trilogy? I am around Nunawading and Glen Waverley in Victoria.

After my ancient post for Seasons 1 & 2 of Westworld (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/461528) I decided I'd get Seasons 3 & 4 for a total of $44.98. Picked them up with stickers showing $55.98 each, so pretty happy with the complete set for just under $83!

Ended up only buying a few things:

    • Joker 4K
    • Beverly Hills Cop 4K
    • Oblivion 4K (blind buy)
    • Ready Player One 4K (blind buy)

Wanted to pick up The Hunger Games 5 Film Collection + the Stanley Kubrick Collection (another blind buy), but they weren't in store. Might do an online order, but will probably get something else - don't want to risk ending up with a bunch of 4k's that I only watch once…

Anyone hear of any bonus discount tomorrow to go with BOGOF? Nothing in my JB spam email.

    • It usually overlaps on the last day if they do have a 20% off sale.

      • seems like it will probably be 10% off this if it is wicked wednesday

      • +5

I don’t know where this misinformation has originated from, 20% off on top of the JB HiFi B1G1F BD/4K sale has never happened during or on the last of the sale ever since 2016 when the sale first started and became a yearly promotion in May and each May since. An additional 10% off code is the maximum that has ever been offered on the very last day of the B1G1F sale, and that’s only happened for the last 1-2 years.

        • Seems like perks members get the extra 10% off.

          • @Circly: Looks like under terms and conditions the 10% discount does not apply to 4k and blurays.

However the $10 welcome voucher does.

            • @garetz: Ah.. Well I guess there's no stacking of discounts then.

        • Here, here! So many people keep writing the same misinformation.
