Mega Foam For Mega Soapy Fun

Sticky Snowball Shampoo will exceed your foamiest expectations with its thick, luxurious suds that can last through the entire wash. Sticky Snowball got its name because it's crafted to produce tons of thick mega suds that stick to the surface, giving the soap time to capture dirt and debris and remove it smoothly without adding swirls or scratches.

Spotless Shine Every Time

Sticky Snowball doesn't just clean. We're added three more ingredients to give you amazing results: First, added specialty gloss enhancers provide a just-waxed shine. Second, added paint conditioners help resist water spots and streaking while drying and the gentle pH-balanced formula won't strip waxes or sealants. And third, added lubricants delivers a rapid-rinsing soap that's slick enough to rinse right off the surface to help resist streaks and water spots.

Sticky Snowball delivers exceptional results when used in foam cannon and foam blaster.

I tried Meguiar's Gold Class Car Wash in a foam cannon and it didnt do anything.

So stopped believing foam wash actually cleans the car and went back to hand washing it.

What foam cannon did you use. Mjjc is the best and can make excellent foam out of almost all car washes

      • I mean it made foam covered the whole car but when i removed it with the pressure washer the car was still dirty.

I just assumed the foam is supposed to soften all the dirt and stuff stuck to the car so it can be easily washed away.

I got the foam presure washer so that i won't need to hand wash it

You still need to manually handwash. Foam washes are just a highly successful marketing gimmick that provide very little benefit. Even the pre-wash 'dirt breakdown' argument is total nonsense when overwhelming majority of that dirt would be removed with a pressure washer rinse, and anything that doesn't get removed under the high pressure mechanical action isn't going to magically dissolve with some piss weak diluted soap whipped up into a foam(which is 99% air).

          • +1

@howcan: Not sure about this. Surfactants in the soap help to break the surface tension of the dirt on the panels. Pressure wash might give the same effect if you manage to wash it evenly, but the high pressure portion of the stream is fairly concentrated to a relatively small space vs the size of your car panel.

            @howcan: Bilt Hamber.

@howcan: So yeas, it does soften it up, but not to the point where it just glides off. You still need manual to manually adjitate it to get it. Where you would normally have to go over a really dirty patch a couple time and scrubbing, the foam canon softens it to a point where one easy pass and the crst comes off. Think of it like a pan after cooking and leaving it to soak overnight for stubborn stains. The dish washing detergent doesn't just allow the tap water to wash it clean right… You still need to scrub.

          • @howcan: Agreed. I still use it when I can be bothered as I still have two bottles of Bowden's Own foam product to get through but it doesn't really do much.

          • @howcan: successful at wasting car wash

Get one of those car wash mop. Bought one from Temu for under $10. Makes it so much easier and faster to wash the car. I usually use the foam gun first then car wash mop after.

      • Mjjc is the best

I am guessing you are referring to: https://mjjc.com/collections/foam-cannon-pro ?

I always thought Bowden's Own Snow Cannon was the bee's knees.
Or, are they about the same?

I have the Ozito pressure cleaner. So, I think I will need to look for a MJJC variant that has the LAVOR adapter.

        • +1

Mjjc was the original and have updated theirs many times over the years. Even little updates that dont make it to version 1, 2 or 3.
I had a v1, then a v1.1 and now just upgraded to a v3 with a spare bottle and lid to store any left over.
Bowdens own just purchase from another supplier. MJJC is supplier/ manufacturer direct. All MJJC do is make the foam cannon and pressure washer accessories. You can see in their listing they even have the different orifice size to match your pressure washer. You can also order all the spares required for your foam canon down the track.
This is the one i have

        • i've got the ozito too, but what's the ozb alternative to the cannon? i can't fork out $137 for a foam cannon..

          • +1

@ps3udo: Get any random $20 from eBay/Temu/AliExpress. I got mine from Temu and foams well even with cheap soap. Is it $137 quality foam? Probably not but foam is foam to me and it works

A proper wash without physical contact doesn’t exist. If using car shampoos, the protocol is to:

      foam > rinse > foam > hand wash > rinse > dry

If you want to simplify and not use snow foam / cash shampoo at all, look into rinseless wash.

      • Thanks, I've learnt that i should stick to hand washing the car and return the foam pressure washer as it hardly does anything.

        • You need a quality pressure washer, quality snow foam gun, and a quality snow foam soap/product. Bilt Hamber touchless is a high quality product with a high PH so it melts the dirt off the car in the pre wash stage. I use it as my go to pre wash with an MJJC Pro V2 foam cannon. But I also always contact wash the car by hand afterwards. Here is a video showing how it works.

        • I really recommend you look into rinseless wash then, in particular DIY Detail rinseless.
It is shocking how much easier and faster the wash process is than messing with soap.

      • technically it can but it might also strip any of your wax/coating and should not be done often. I believe they are very high in alkaline

    • I could be wrong but my understanding is that for foam canons to do any sort of noticeable cleaning they would be to be a higher ph rating and most consumer soaps are ph neutral.

So something like meguiars gold glass is really used for the snow foam aesthetic or extra lubrication during contact wash.

Happy for professional detailers to chime in

      • Not a pro but you are absolutely right. Many shampoos/soaps are PH neutral, meaning they wont strip off any car protection (like a wax or ceramic sealant), but they are also not high performance cleaners that can strip the dirt off. If the car is not that dirty, you can get away with foaming a car with a shampoo and then hand washing it with the same soap. If the car is relatively dirty, then you are at risk of marring the paint or scratching it with just a shampoo/soap. That's why a lot of people use a higher alkaline pre wash soap such as Bilt Hamber Foam/touchless before the soap wash.

  • Does this work with a pressure washer foam attachment?

    • +2

That is literally what the product is marketing

  • +3

If you have a car with ceramic or Graphene coating and your wash semi regularly then you can get away with a foam and touchless rinse. Sure it's not perfect but I touch up with a detailing spray and microfiber wipe for dirty spots. Can't actually recall when I last busted out the sponge in the past 5 months.

    • +1

You can indeed get away with it but after a few months run your hands over the paint to check for embedded contaminants.

If it's rough probably time to give it a clay bar and a touch up with the ceramic coating.

  • So is this stuff good for just standard washing or is it too expensive?

    • I use a cheap $20 canon from Temu and the cheapest car shampoo. Works fine and foams up plenty.

  • Anyone know a good enough cannon?

    • generally even the cheap ones are fine, as long as it has adjustable solution, just need to control the amount of solution to water.

  • Had to order it in store as no stock. Felt weird saying the product name to the girl behind the counter.
