Dear Antzz, get ready for negs….we have so many last 10mins flash sales affected and distressed OzB members here.

    • Lets create some record…

    • Why ? . Description is accurate .

    • totally agree, however + for both

  • +9

    complete waste of time

  • why complete waste of time? Is it fake ad?

  • when I put my email address in I got "undefind"!!! Should I neg this deal???

  • +7

We are expecting over 1 million guests trying their luck on the day, so don't be surprised if you walk away with nothing or experience website crashes/congestion.

    I wouldn't be too optimistic here…COTD aren't either!!! :p

I'm plus'ing due to the awesome and totally correct title.

  • -2

Only thing I can see that I want is the PS3 and the 1TB drive.

    I wouldn't even call the 19" Samsung a bargain.

I hate COTD :) not sure if any thing is purchasable or keeping refreshing page all time. Waste of time. Better of me buying somewhere with more rate.

So much death. What can men do against such reckless hate?

  • I got a waste Click Of The Day :(

  • This is all going to end in tears. Well… almost :P

  • COTD = scam of the day. If you haven't realised how crap the items are for their value on COTD then you deserve to be ripped off.

  • Waste of time…

  • Anyone see a 40' pole on COTD?

  • COTD has wasted my time too many times…

  • I wish cotd would just say how much stock they have of each. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they have between 1-10 of the bargains.

If they are expecting 1million guests and they had 10 items that gives everyone trying for it a 0.001% chance. Very cheap marketing.

    • just to be clear my neg is due to the pitiful number of items they put up knowing the expected outcome of the day is server crashes and lots of angry customers.
  • Yeah, not real keen on Scam-Of-The-Day after their last 10 minute 'so called' sale!!!
When an item says it's sold out in 30 seconds, then comes back up as in stock 5 minutes later and/or you manage to get on to it in time but the add to cart button doesn't work… YOU HAVE TO QUESTION THE VALIDITY!!!!!

WON'T BE WASTING MY TIME ON THIS ONE!!!!!

  • This is just a marketing to get more people involved. But they don't realize that out of the 1 million people come to there site only 1000 people might get the goods. So 999,000 people is unhappy. This is the worst advertising i ever seen.

    • Well, whatever they are doing, they are doing it well.

They know there are a few categories of COTD customers :

      1) They know the pissed customers that won't buy anything from them anymore isn't a great loss, as they probably don't normally shop at COTD anyway. Those that know their stuff will compare it with eBay and other websites and know that they aren't of good value and price.

      2) Customers that aren't bargain savvy, and won't get pissed if they miss out on these kinda sales. They will continue to buy every crap that COTD throws at them.

      3) Those that are over it, and won't sweat it if they miss out on these sales. These ones will still buy from COTD if they spot something of value.

      2) and 3) keeps COTD going. And I must say their fans outnumber their critics by a fair bit.

  • If they really wanted to maximize these kinda marketing, they could make it available only to those that have bought something from COTD in the past 30 days. That way they would get new users who actually bought something, and really make them feel exclusive.

If they want to add another dimension to it, turn it into an exclusive offer to a randomly drawn lucky buyer from the previous 30 days. If the lucky buyer declines the offer, randomly draw another one.

Keeps loyal customers pleasantly surprised when offered, and feeling really lucky.

But I guess this promotion is all about harvesting new subscribers to spam. Those who actually managed to buy something have really good internet connections, plus have "tricks" and scripts to help them along. I'd like to see a new subscriber that isn't too tech savvy actually being able to buy something.

  • Should really be under "Competitions".

      More like "Pyramid Schemes"! ;)

    Crash of the day

  • I ordered some stuff on the 24th of October, still says "processing" on their website, paypal dispute open and nothing!

  • I got 2 free things from the last sale :) Plus got the 1c thing prior to the sale, so all up although didn't win much, good experience :)

  • Can I price match? :P
