Out of the top contenders in the premium ANC space at this price (I don't have Focal Bathys money), reviews point to these being the clear winner in terms of sound quality, so that does it for me.

At this price, they are even cheaper than the XM4s.

        You'd probably be lucky to get anything over $450 considering they were on sale for almost all of last year at $650ish brand new.

  I'd recommend trying these on first as I found them uncomfortable with glasses. XM3's were amazing but had died on me. XM5's padding is too shallow.

  I ended up getting the B&W PX7 S2E and love them. Noise cancelling is about 90% of the XM3's.

    those two are basically meme brands compared to sennheiser.

    sennheiser has been making headphones and some for pro's for decades. beats was started by a rapper and to this day relies on spending like 90% on marketing.

    Not sure about beats but I've been eying the Marshall's and did some research.
    Sennheiser M4 (and Sony Mx5, böse qc) seem to be a touch better in everything according to most reviews.

    With 350 dollars as regular low price for the Marshall's i had them down as my preference.

    Long story short, I just pulled the trigger on the sennheiser for this price.
