I'd be hesitant to buy from these guys on ebay, I picked up a recent deal for one of their silent guitars and it was sent missing parts - they've advised a 35 working day (21 weeks) waiting period for replacement parts to be dispatched from China.

35 working days is 21 weeks? What industry are you in?

        • +2

35 working days is 7 weeks assuming the norm of 5 work days per week. Why are you calculating it by hours? You my landlord?

The link you gave is literally calculating 35 days x 24 hours divided by a 40 hour work week to get 21. There are 21 Mondays alone in 21 weeks. 7 weeks is still a crap turnaround, just not 5+ months crap.

          • @Freezies: I'm not that good at math and way too lazy, I just followed the calculator my bad lmao

        • Yes, as Freezies says, a work week is five days, so 35 days is seven weeks (assuming no other public holidays). That calculator has some weird maths going on.

          • @Dalton: Apparently so that is my bad, I'll own that! Still, I don't want to wait nearly 2 months for a part that should have been included

        • Got to pay that bluff, that was legendary

works on one of the VIC government's union 'big build' projects…

    • Won't be silent if the guitar is playable lol

I've bought a number of products from these guys including a guitar, not once experienced an issue. Great value…

I picked up a Donner Circle Looper for ~$95 a year or so ago from Donner Melody AU- Amazing little gadget! On the Strength of that I bought the Donner Arena 2000 Multi effects box to replace an aging Boss GT6. . The Arena 2000 incorporates the Donner Circle Looper functions + everything and more that the Boss did for me. The A2000 is also far more compact than the old Boss.

And then (thanks to Ozbargain) I bought the Donner DJP-1000 335 archtop guitar earlier this year. A beautiful guitar only let down by piss poor volume control pots. That's been sorted, along with a bit more set up and nut replacement. It is now an amazingly playable guitar, not that it wasn't playable to start with.

Now I find other than the looper and drum machine functions I'm not using other effects anymore due to the tonal varieties the DJP 1000 on its own offers.

Donner gear does seem great value, but shop around. The Donner Music site is a price jacker extra-ordinaire, so be careful. If I was looking for a solid body starter I wouldn't hesitate with this offer.

I've bought from one of their eBay shell companies before and no issues. I thought the tone knobs were duds and they were responsive to my support requests. But turned out my amp volume needed to be cranked to 12.
Happy with my Jazz hollow body.
