  • will jb/officeworks price match?

    • +2

Don't think so as this deal requires you to buy a prepaid Sim and then cancel the next auto payment.

    • +1

Tried it via web chat, no.
"We don't match Amaysim as it requires you to have a sim with them to get the offer. It's the same with Telstra, we don't match anything that requires membership or subscription. "

They (as in JB, EDIT) did offer a different price though via a custom checkout link, but it was for $670 from the $699 RRP.

So either pulling the trigger here with Amaysim, or wait until EOFY or Black Friday I think, historically with A53 and A54 looks like they had been discounted to ~$400 during Black Friday sales or AfterPay day/ebay Plus sales.

    • It's ALL-marketing & consumer-perception.

Samsung will NEVER give big-discount DIRECTLY via retailer.
With annual released of many models, they MUST get rid of excess-stock & the only way is to bundle them with a sim-plan & 'hiding' their discount.
The end game is still the same-> discount to clear stock.

iPhone rarely give big-discount: add to their premium-perception, consumer perceived-value (iphone hold value better than Samsung) etc…what ever BS you believe.
But in reality, iPhone too suffer from technological DE-valuation, eg display & battery
      IPhone 11 retailed for $AU 1.3K in 2019-> https://nanoreview.net/en/phone-compare/motorola-moto-g54-5g…

  • is this a greystock phone? (imported from Asian countries)

    • AU stock with 2 years of Samsung AU warranty.

  • Dual sim???

      eSIM + nano

  • what was the lowest price so far?

  • Wow, better deal compare to Telstra A35 $399 before, com'on Telstra, please do something to beat Amaysim!

  • Bought 2. Believe it or not, just ordered one for $549 via Samsung EPP 2 days ago. That one is going back. Thanks very much OP

    • Hi, sorry, may I ask if you paid for the phone plan? I am currently with Amaysim through this deal, but no matter what I try, it always automatically adds a $30 or $40 plan to the phone (attached pictures).

      • Yes paid with the $30 prepaid. I believe that is for one month which you can cancel the renewal after activation. Not planning to use that however as I'm interested in just putting another sim card in ie my current Boost sim. Surely it's not network locked?

        Edit FAQ says phone unlocked.

        • Yeah, I believe it's unlocked as well. By the way, did they provide you an invoice with GST with your purchase?

    • Did the same, and doing the same thing lol Phone delivered last week and still within 14days refund date so sending the phone back (hasn’t been used)

  • is this like 24 month lock in contract plan or something?

    • +1

No. If you're a new customer, just buy a plan for $30 and cancel at the end of the month.

  • Can anyone buy it from Amaysim? It keep having issue upon checkout.

    • Omg same…. 30min and struggling…

      • I managed to buy one. Keep clicking back and then next until it shows the confirmation screen.

        • Yea had to do that but it was at the payment part, it wouldn’t take 2 of my cards… had to use third one after talking to 2 ppl, which i didnt want to use

  • Can't buy

  • I just added to cart without any issues.

  • Thanks OP. Cashback offers $9.75 for 28-day SIM with 32GB, which brings the price to $419.25.

    • I don't think that cashback will be honoured as this is a phone & SIM bundle.

  • Has anyone received their order of this phone yet? Just want to make sure they are factory sealed and not opened box stock they're selling before committing. Cheers

    • +1

Yes. Received my 2. Phone box still has factory seals.

      • thank you, appreciate it.

  • Would this be an upgrade to an exynos S10? (Battery on the way out and stuck on android 12 but otherwise ok).

  • Can you purchase this for $429 and simply throw away the $30 SIM and just use your own SIM from a different telco ?

    • +1

Yes, you can use any AU sim card but make sure you cancel the next auto payment within 28 days.

      • Thanks

  • The phone (SIM tray) I received today can only put one physical SIM card and Mirco SD.
    How about you guys?
Anyone receive one (SIM tray) that can insert two physical SIM cards?

    • AU version is nano-SIM + eSIM

  • I got this amaysim $119 starter pack deal, can I somehow use it with this ?
Seems like it wants me to get this plan, which means I'd be on the plan and can't use the starter pack sim w/o porting out after that too.

  • Has anyone tried to buy it with an existing $10 7-day plan? Im thinking it would end up making it: phone $399+ renewal $10 + original $10

    • $30 is minimum.

  • I have bought the phone and received a 2$ multi-fit sim starter pack alongside it - when it says "e-sim ready" for my 30$ sim (which I chose with a new number), does that mean that there is an esim already enrolled and activated (28 days already started) in my phone? Or is the sim in the starter pack and (a. is already activated and counting down since shipment arrived) or (b. waiting to be activated, 28 days starts whenever I want it to)?

I had to login to my amysim account to actiavate the sim card.
